The Compartment

I'm terribly sorry about being off for so long. I was working on some other things. Without further ado, here's the next chapter, and there are more coming.

"So," Albus asked as Scorpius escorted me into the cousins' compartment, "how was the meeting?"

"It was-"

"Boring," I interjected, glaring at the prefect prat. "absolutely, positively boring."

Albus glared at me. Rose looked pained.

Dom was too busy checking Scorpius out to say anything. I privately rather disliked her. Rose and Vic were the cousins that I hung out with most (although I also spent a considerable amount of time outside, larruping my brothers in Quidditch).

I pulled my arm out of the loop that was Scorpius's arm, still glaring. "I don't see why I have to switch years," I complained.

Rose laughed, then. "Lilybug, you know you were thrilled and still are. Stop being so grumpy. Al and I are planning on pranking Alicia Wood this coming Hogsmeade weekend. Care to join the fun?"

I relaxed a little and sat down next to my best friend. "You always know how to smooth my feathers, Rosie."

She laughed. "Your fur, more like. You're like an adorable little baby tiger when you're annoyed."

"Excuse me," I said, starting to laugh, "Did you just use the words 'adorable,' baby,' and 'little,' to describe me?"

"Well," she said, smiling, "you are the youngest Potter/Weasley cousin."

"And my baby sister," Albus added.

I laughed a little harder at that. Rose and Al both considered me their equal and I knew it.

But I stopped laughing when Scorpius sat down next to me. What was he playing at? There was an empty space next to Albus that he could clearly see! Hadn't I made it clear that I wanted nothing to do with him?

Time for a last resort. I pulled out The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, one of my favorite Muggle books, and sank into a land of make-believe. And I stayed there for the rest of the ride.
