Love you all,

Now I'd done it. I saw the shock in her eyes- and I realized I'd been even worse than Rose had earlier, because I had received no real encouragement.
Lily mouthed incoherent words soundlessly, her eyes wide and shocked.
"Scorpius, you can't mean that-"
"I can and I do." Shut UP, you git! I screamed at myself internally.
"But Scorpius- Rose-"
"Lily, you break my heart every time you tell me I should be with her. Does this mean you don't-"
"Of course I don't. And I don't believe you really care, either. I think Al put you up to it or- or something. And that's bloody indecent of you, Scorpius Malfoy."
"Lily, I promise, I mean it!"
"Have you been drinking?"
"I don't drink, Lily Luna Potter, and you know it. Stop acting so-"
"So what? Childish?" Now she was angry.
"Look," I said, feeling as though my stomach had disappeared into a black hole, "remember when I told you that the reason I've never stayed with anyone is that I've always wanted someone else? That someone else is you."
"What?"
"Remember the day Al started Hogwarts and your uncle said something about me?"
"Er- didn't he tell Rosie 'don't get too close?'"
"Well, yes. But the thing is, the only reason I heard that was because I was staring at you."
"What?"
"I'd seen an article on your IQ in the Daily Prophet. I thought even then that you were pretty for a nine-year-old. And then I saw you at the station-"
"Listen, there's no way that- let's just forget this happened. Literally."
"You mean obliviate? I'm sorry, Lily, but I'm not doing that. I don't want to forget."
"Please, do it to me then. I don't want to remember this."
I felt stab after stab of hurt go through me at her words. But I did sort of understand. She didn't want me on her conscience.
"Alright." I pointed my wand at her forehead. "Obliviate."
She blinked. "Scorpius, what happened? I remember the Cloak snagging- but when did you get here? And why are you so pale? Well, you're always pale, but-"
I frowned. "Lily, did you hit your head? I just helped you up. You should go to bed."
She shrugged. "Alright."
As she walked away, shoving the Cloak back over her, I sighed. I shouldn't have done what I did- but the fact that she didn't remember it made it that much worse.
Later that night, as I lay staring up at the ceiling, I mentally went through my memories of her. I hadn't known that I loved her until I'd said it, and I wanted to try and decide when it had happened- when I'd started to love her.
