Lily's POV:

All the foreign students were now at Hogwarts, and so we all filed back into the Great Hall as a gentle rain began to fall, which though gentle still effectively soaked us. Scorpius's normally loose hair was matted to his head. Al's wasn't- nothing could tame his wild mane. And Rose had magically protected her own locks.

We all piled through the huge main doors of the Hall, laughing and shoving each other so we could get to our seats and make room for the foreign students.

I couldn't wait to catch up later with Professor Amy. It was so perfectly lovely to see her again! Al didn't seem too excited at all; he was too wrapped up in the letter he'd just received by owl from James. In it he was practically howling with indignation about the Triwizard Tournament. Al was reading it aloud as we sat down.

"It isn't fair!" James complained in the letter. "Dad should have had the Tournament when I was still at Hogwarts. He knew I loved the stories. And it's complete rot, his lowering the-"

"Excuse me- is it okay if we sit here?"

I looked up to see the Catmeer girl and her two friends. "Oh- yeah, sure. It's Faith, isn't it?"

Faith nodded. "And these two hopeless morons are Jake and Alex," she added with a grin.

"Aww, Faith, come on-"

"Don't be a hater-"

"You know it's just cause we're too hot for you-"

"First of all, Alex, I'm not a hater. And geez, Jake! The day you become too hot for anyone is the day I start wearing a sombrero and poncho to school- which I'm never doing," she finished.

"But Faith, I'll bet all the hot British chicks are head-over-heels for us!" Jake complained. He gestured to Rose. "Like that one."

Far from being flattered, it was clear that Rose was majorly offended. I wasn't sure if she liked being called a "hot British chick-" maybe she thought he was joking. "Excuse me?" she asked, her voice clipped and brittle.

Jake grinned, running a hand through his dark hair like a supermodel. "Sure. I think you're hot. And I also think I'm hot. So, we're-"

"Jake, shut up. You're scaring her," Faith said. "Sit down and keep your comments to yourself."

She seated herself in between me and Lysander Scamander. The quiet one, Alex- the one who had complained about his legs hurting after the dragon ride- sat on my other side, between me and Scorpius. Scorpius scowled, though I wasn't sure why he was so angry.

Jake seated himself across from us, next to Rose, who looked completely exasperated. "So, are we eating?"

"No," I said, smiling slightly. "We're waiting for my dad to give some opening remarks about the Tournament. After that, I think you lot are coming to classes with us."
