  Rose's POV:

The wedding was as beautiful as a dream, and so was Lily. I couldn't seem to stop smiling as I looked around at the pre-wedding preparations and the arriving guests, but I did- once I saw Jake.

He was walking through the curtain of the canopied doorway, and his eyes were piercing as he looked at me, but also cold.

"Hello, Jake."

"Rose."

I swallowed nervously. "Jake, I hope you know- I'm really, really sorry about two years ago-"

"We might have been married right now if you hadn't been such an idiot, Rose. As it is, I can only say thank heaven. You would have been cheating on me left and right."

"Now wait a minute, Jake, he kissed me! I didn't kiss him."

"That's not what I saw."

"Well, it's what happened!" I was growing desperate. "Jake, if you'll only forgive me- I still- I still-"

The cold left his eyes. "You still what, Rose?"

"I still love you."

He looked at me for a minute, then turned away, saying:

"That's your mistake."

I couldn't stand this. "Don't turn your back on me, Jake!" I pleaded, running around to stand in front of him. "I can't stand your coldness! Just tell me once that I'm still your friend, at least!"

He looked at me, but said nothing, until I started to cry.

Then he had me.

"Rose, do you mean that, what you said? Do you really mean that?"

"Of course I do, you dolt. Why can't you see that? Why can't you understand that I'm telling you the truth?"

He looked at me, and his face was apprehensive. "I didn't think you were telling the truth."

"Well, I am. I'd marry you right now to prove it, but you- you're so-"

"I'm sorry, Rosie, I'm sorry."

He kissed me, and everything around us seemed to fade.

"Rosie?"

It was Albus.

"Haven't you ANY tact at all?" I muttered at him, turning.

He chuckled. "No, I haven't. Come on. Faith's got baby Liana. We have to sit down; Lily's about to come through the aisle."

"I'll sit next to my fiancé," Jake said.

Al grinned at me. "Congratulations, Rosie!"

"Er- thanks," I said.

As Jake and I walked towards the third row, reserved for extended family and close friends, I turned to him.

"You didn't ask me to marry you!"

"But you said you would," he pointed out, "so I didn't have to."

He pulled a small golden band from his pocket.

I gasped. "Is that-"

"I've never put it down since we broke off the engagement," he admitted. "You'll take it, won't you, Rosie?"

I smiled at him. "Of course."

Music began to play, and everyone turned. Jake and I did as well.

Lily made a dainty fairy of a bride, with a lace veil over her long auburn curls and the fluffy base of her dress poufing, making her look like she was walking on clouds. There were forget-me-nots in her bouquet- unorthodox, perhaps, but beautiful. Behind her came James's beautiful little toddler Ivy, her red curls bouncing and her great green eyes shining despite the fact that she had been forced to wear an "ugwy dwess." Little Remus Lupin, Teddy's little boy, was scowling at the indignation of having to be the ringbearer, and his hair was an angry fire-red.

Lily reached the podium, where Scorpius was waiting, looking nervous and excited at the same time. His father, who liked Lily, was beaming, and so was Uncle Harry.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today..."

I remembered my old crush on Scorpius, and knew that if he had fancied me back, things might have been different right now. But I had Jake, and I was happier as I was.

"I do."

"I do."

Lily Potter was now Lily Malfoy, and her eyes were shining as she looked at Scorpius, who looked like he'd been clubbed over the head with a rainbow.

And as they waltzed out into the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife, I heard them telling each other 'I love you.'

And I smiled as widely as they had, turning to Jake.
