The closer we got to each other, the more I panicked. Just as we were about to collide, I heard someone scream 'no' and I was shoved out of the way. Demon Blaze stumbled, apparently caught off guard, and fell to the ground. I landed on my back, getting the wind knocked out of me. I caught sight of a white light glowing out the corner of my eye, next to me as I began to catch my breathe.
I gasped as I looked up and saw a little blonde headed boy standing there. He had a beautiful white light coming from his transparent body. I crawled backs away from him, but he reached his hand towards me and I froze.
"Please, do not be afraid," he whispered. "I will not harm you. I'm here to help."
I looked at Will and Rayn, with a worried expression, and turned back to the little spirit boy.
"What do you want? Who are you?" My voice came out came out barely a whisper.
"My name is Ryan. I was sent to help you." He replied.
"How can you be Ryan if your a demon and already inside my friend?" I questioned, looking over at Blaze, whom was still on the ground.
"That demon pretended to be me. Only to befriend you so he could cause you trouble, pain, and to terrorize you. I promise, I'm only here to help you defeat him."
"B-b-but how?" I stammered.
"I must enter you body to defeat him. I can only enter if you grant me access. If I have no physically body, I can only keep him away for a short period of time. Once he is defeated, I will remove my spirit from your body."
"How do I know that this isn't a trick?"
"You have to trust me. We must hurry."
"No, I'm sorry, but I can't. I don't want to end up like my friend." I gestured towards Blaze.
"You must have faith in me."
I shook my head. "I'm sorry." I whispered, letting my head fall to my chest.
"I'll do it." Will replied, stepping up next to me.
"What? You can see him, too?" I looked up at Will.
"Yes, I can. Don't worry, he's telling the truth. He was sent here to help us." Will held his hand out to me.
"No! Will, what if it's a trick?" Rayn asked, running up beside him and grabbed his other arm.
"How do you know, for sure?" I asked, grabbing his hand and pulling myself up.
"I can't explain it, but I just know." He smiled at me as he patted Rayn's hand.
"I don't know. Something doesn't feel right to me." I said, glancing over at Demon Blaze who still remained laying on the ground.
"Hey, its going to be okay. I promise. Let me finish this." Will squeezed my shoulder.
"Okay, but I swear, if you die, I'm going to kill you myself." I gave him a light punch on his shoulder.
"I won't." He grabbed my face with both hands and kissed me softly on the lips.
I was shocked. I didn't know what to do. I didn't see it coming neither. I was speechless, but I kissed him back. He pulled away, nodded his head, and turned to Spirit Ryan. "I'm ready."
"Do you grant me access to your body to help finish off this demon?" Ryan asked, floating over in front of Will.
"I do." Will responded.
A gasp escaped my mouth as Ryan's transparent figure grew brighter than it was before. The little spirit boy began to rise in the air. He held his hands out towards Will and lifted them. Immediately, Will began to rise off the ground as well. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief.
This has got to be some kind of trick.
Rayn came and stood next to me as Ryan's figure began to disappear. As he faded, a small bright orb, now, floated in his place. My eyes followed the orb, until I noticed that Will's eyes snapped shut and his mouth was slightly ajar.
The orb entered into Will's mouth and a blinding bright light covered Will's body. I had to look away due to the light hurting my eyes. Once it dimmed, I turned my attention back to Will, who was, now, standing on the ground with his eyes opened. They were a bright sky blue and beautiful. His color was a little pale looking, almost as if someone had put chalk dust all over his body.
I inhaled sharply and slapped both of my hands over my mouth. His head snapped in my direction. He walked over to me, placed his finger under my chin, and spoke softly, to the point where I almost didn't hear him. "I will protect him, I promise."
I knew that it was Ryan speaking. I nodded my head as he let his hand fall and turned his attention towards Demon Blaze, as he was climbing to his feet, now. Angel Will stormed over to the demon and grabbed him by the throat and flung him. Demon Blaze's body slammed against the house with a sickening thud and slid to the ground.
"Well, look who joined the party. I'm going to have fun sending you back to heaven and then, killing each and everyone one of these pathetic bags of meat." Demon Blaze chuckled as he pushed himself up off the ground.
"I was never in heaven. I've been earth bound, waiting, to help those in need. Be sure to tell Satan that I said hello when I sent you back to hell." Angel Will shouted, approaching Demon Blaze.
I screamed as the demon drew back his arms and swung it, connecting with Will's jaw. The blow sent him flying backwards and landing hard on his back. "You can tell him yourself, along with these disgusting humans," he chuckled as he turned his attention to me. "And you, my dear Nessa, I'm going to enjoy killing you. I'll save you for last."
"You won't get the chance to touch her!" Angel Will boomed, as he was already on his feet and running at Demon Blaze.
Rayn and I watched them exchange blows for what seemed like eternity. Each time Will took a blow, I would grip Rayn's hand and squeezed. She would yank her hand away and try to move away from me, but I kept my eyes glued on the fight and yank her back to me by her shirt before she got to far from me.
I was so scared that something bad was going to happen to Will and Blaze. I knew Rayn was worried for them as well. For the first time ever, I prayed that they would be okay. I know before this, I didn't believe in God, but after tonight, it was going to change and I was okay with that.
I knew, now, that God exists and hopefully, he was watching over and protecting Will as well as Blaze.
The demon growled out in frustration. Will didn't seem exhausted at all. Every time he got knocked down, he would get back up and continue to fight. If he made it through this, his body was going to be sore as hell in the morning and I would be there to help him with whatever he needed.
However, there was one thing I didn't understand. Why did the demon chose to take over Blaze's body and not mine? Clearly, the demon was more interested in me than anyone else. Could it have been because Blaze had provoked the board and demon when we played the board? Or that I didn't fully believe in God, like I should have, before any of this ever happened?
I could see that the demon was getting extremely annoyed. I watched with curious eyes as Demon Blaze laughed evilly and held out one of his hands. A thick shiny long dagger appeared, out of nowhere, in his hand. I let go of Rayn and began pulling at my hair, knowing this was about to get even uglier.
"This is for you, my lovely little Nessa." Demon Blaze cackled, looking over at me, baring his teeth as he held up the dagger for me to see.
