Avery

"Avery?" Dylan questioned, as her eyes switched back and forth between Cameron and I.

I peered at Cameron, who just stood there awkwardly.

"Dylan!" I say, frightened on what she'd do.

Jordyn and Beverly crossed their arms over their chests.

"What are you doing with Cameron?" Jordyn asked through gritted teeth.

I pulled my lip between my teeth, unsure of what to say.

Cameron's grip got tighter around my hand.

I looked at him.

"Jordyn. Beverly. Dylan". Cameron begins, pausing every time he would say their names. "Avery is my girlfriend".

He said that very confidently. Like he wasn't afraid of what they'd do.

The three girls, standing in front of us stood there glaring.

I felt bad, that I went behind their back and started dating their ex. I really did..

I know that if my best friend started dating my ex, I would probably be pissed off too.

Jordyn bit her bottom lip. The other two girls just stood there awkwardly.

It was silent for a long time. An unearthly silence.

"Guys.." I begin, but before they could even let me speak, they turned around and walked away.

I felt my stomach drop, from all the tension building up inside of me.

I felt hopeless that I just let my friends down.

They probably hate me now...

Cameron's body swiftly turns to me.

His hands grip loosens around mine.

"What was that all about?" Cameron asks. His voice already seems like he knows what's up.

I shake my head. "Nothing". I mumble.

The bell rings, indicating that first period has began.

Cameron leans in and quickly kisses me on the cheek.

"I'll see you in history babe". He says, before running off.

He leaves me stranded in the middle of the hallway. Alone.

I grab my stuff and head to biology class.

When the lunch bell rang, I headed to the cafeteria.

Dylan, Beverly, and Jordyn sat in their regular spot.

I decided to take a chance and sit with them. I still wondered if they were made at me.

I pulled out the plastic chair, from underneath the table, and dragged it out so I could sit.

I placed my lunch on the table, and looked at them.
