Avery

"Cameron look out!" I scream, as the car was meters away from crashing into a building.

Cameron quickly faces forward and his eyes widen.

He tries to turn the sterling wheel, only to make the car drift and crash into the brick wall.

My body was immediately thrown into the windshield.

The window shattered over my body, sending pieces of glass to rain over me.

They injected my skin, and blood soon started to drizzle from the wounds.

I let out an exotic scream, as I could feel nothing but pain.

"Avery?!" I heard somebody's voice call.

I felt their hands aggressively shaking my body.

I quickly sat up, hoping it was all just a nightmare.

"Cameron?!" I cry, as my eyes snapped open.

My body ached as I sat up. I felt like I had just been beat to death.

Fluorescent lighting blinded my eyesight.

I shut my eyes again, and tried to adjust to the lighting.

"Avery dear". The voice said. "Are you alright?"

I opened my eyes to see a blonde headed nurse hovering over me.

Her eyes were bulging out of her head, as if she was petrified.

"Who are you? Where am I?" I began to freak out, causing my heart monitor to increase.

"Calm down sweet heart, you're alright". She says, as she tries to get me to lay back down.

My breathing heaved heavily, like I had just ran a marathon.

I looked around the setting. The floor was tiled with white tiles. The walls were painted a faint yellowish colour, and the room smelt like medicine.

It was a hospital.

Memories of the car accident flashed into my mind. Cameron was trying to explain his mistake, but I didn't listen to him.

I caused him to get frustrated...

This was all my fault.

If I haven't of yelled at him, we wouldn't be stuck in this mess.

I began to hyperventilate again.
I needed to know where Cameron was.

"Where's Cameron?!" I ask, sitting up straight, in the uncomfortable hospital bed.

My back stung in pain, along with my shoulders and legs.

I looked down at my wounded body.

My right arm was held in a shoulder sling, keeping my arm from straightening. My left leg was cupped in a white, ugly cast, that went up to my knee, while my other leg was covered in dozens of bloody bandages.

I remembered back in the car, how my legs got squashed underneath heavy metal. The pressure must've been extremely heavy, if it broke my leg.

Just thinking about the scene, made me cringe at the pain.

I look back up at the nurse, to see a worried expression plastered on her face.

Looking at her face, felt like something bad has happened to him.

I pulled my bottom lip between my teeth, anxious of her answer.

"He's in a critical condition right now". The blonde headed nurse says, clutching her papers close to her chest.

"He was not wearing a seatbelt during the accident, my dear". She says, stroking my rough, blood-crusted cheek.

"He was found lying on the hood of the car, between both the car and the brick wall".

I imagined Cameron being pinned against the wall by the vehicle. What if he was squished to death?!

My stomach twisted in worry.

The nurse flipped through her notes, and started reading off the papers.

"He had broken five ribs. He fractured his collarbone. Dislocated his shoulder blade, and broke his left leg". She says.

Her glossy brown eyes looked down at me.

"I-is he okay?" I hesitate.

She nods her head, but I feel like it was sarcastic.

"I need to see him". I say, throwing my wounded legs over the side of the bed.

She looks at me shocked, and quickly hurries over to me.

"No no sweet heart". She says. "You need to stay here and get some rest".

"But I need to see him!" I cry, trying to push her off of me.

Tears threatened to spill from my eyes.

I needed to hold him in my arms. I needed to tell him that I was sorry. I wanted to forgive him, for all the pain that I've caused him.

I felt like a terrible person!

The nurse held me down, and called in security.

My one good leg, began kicking at the nurse.

She held my arms down against the bed, and tried to keep me from kicking her.

"Get off of me!" I demand.

One security guard pulled her off of me, as the other security guard tried to calm me down.

"I need to see him!!" I scream.

Hot, wet tears streamed down my face.

"Please!" I beg.

I felt a sharp needle, poke me in the thigh.

"Ow!" I hiss, as the blonde headed nurse pulled the needle out.

I immediately began to feel tired.

My body grew weak, and minutes later, I dozed off to sleep.
