Authors note: Sorry that this chapter is so short, I was going through a block. But I am back now ! So yay !

~

The small temple like structure is covered in gravestones and words of prayer. We use this family shrine to communicate with our ancestors and ask for things such as blessings, guidance, and protection.

The smoke of previously lit incense burns my nose with an unpleasant as I enter. My families ability to smell must've died in the war because it smells awful! Then I proceed to light a stick of incense myself. One with a scent of vanilla, might I add, because my nose still works!

I lower to my knees and sit on the back of my legs. The room has a faint emerald glow and with the reflection of stones every where, but then I see my reflection in one of the mirror like stones.

" What're you going to do ? Hm ? " I ask my reflection before scoffing at myself due to how ridiculous I feel. No matter how long I stare at my reflection it doesn't change.

I smile, yet still look ill.

I puff my chest, yet I still look minuscule.

I try to look intimidating, yet I still look 'beautiful'.

Why can't I just change for the better?

Plus, I hate this so called beautiful face.

All it has ever done is cause me trouble!

" Ancestors ... Why am I this way ? ... Why have you cursed me to shame my family in every aspect of life !? Is it to much to ask for some help ?! All my life I have try to do everything on my own and to never burden you or anyone, but I'm only human !! Just once could you help me !! "

It felt like my screams automatically fell on deaf ears. A burning sensation brims the waterlines of my eyes as I look up in attempt to prevent tears from flowing. The roof was the only place where I couldn't see my reflection. However, even then I still found myself hissing in hate because of the statues of our families guardians that rest above.

They're useless...

My eyes close just for a second so I can regather my thoughts before heading back to the house. I rise to my feet lazily and let out a held breathe. A small crack of thunder can be heard in the distance as I start walking.

I see the last candle lit in my parents room as I come closer to the house. With a deep breathe that I end up holding again, I enter. Instantly their smiling faces greet me and I exhale.

" Mu! How did it go ? " my mother asks earnestly before being followed by my fathers prideful remark " I bet they made you a general or maybe even royal advisor ! ". I laugh while feeling sick to my stomach " oh well I um... I ... "

" Spit it out ! " my great grandma shouts while my grandparents try to silence her.

" I'm just a regular warrior on the front lines ! ".

It slips right out and there's no time for me take it back. My mother's smiling face is causing me to choke on my words.

Her eyes are a bit teary as she comes over to me and pulls me into what soon becomes a group hug. " I was a front liner just like you Mu. You are going to do so many great things and help so many people ".

Now that all my morals are dead I can't bear to look her in the eyes as I break out of this claustrophobic hug.

" I know mama, I couldn't be more thrilled ! But I'm very tired and I have to leave tomorrow, so I'm just going to head to bed ". She understood and gives me a nod before wishing me sweet dreams.

Technically that is one the few honest statements I've made all day, Well, partially. I am exhausted and I do plan on heading back to that camp tomorrow.

I can't let them down without giving it my all ...
