Heart

The monitor stopped.

So did time.

Everything stopped,

I couldn't even blink.

My heart stopped and with it, so did my entire life.

It wasn't like I had died, but I no longer had a heart.

I can't even call it mine.

It's weird not feeling anything.

Not truly free, but there's no more pain.

No more mercy, no more jealousy, not a care in the world.

No more happy, no more sad, no more laughing when I'm nervously scared.

Just a mask, in place of where a heart should be.
