Chapter 3:
Fetus luke at the sidebar for your entertainment!
Teddy
The boys just finished putting their instruments in their cases and the event marshalls at the venue were now fixing up the stage so they could close it down.
Roxette pulled me by the wrist at the back of the stage and met the boys.
“Hey boys! I want you all to meet my best friend, her name’s-” Roxette tried introducing me before someone screeched.
“TEDDY!!” Calum screeched. He smiled then gave me a bear hug. I was really surprised so it took me a few seconds to hug him back.
“You two know each other?” Roxette asked, her mouth hanging open.
“Yeah. After the school band’s performance.” I told her. I still hadn’t told her that I returned Calum’s guitar or even about being locked out with Luke.
“Cool! Anyways, Teddy is my best friend. Teddy, this is Michael, Ashton, Calum, you already know him and Luke.” Roxette introduced, pointing to each of the boys.
Michael was the guy from my History class last year while I don’t have Ashton or Calum in any of my classes. Luke's from my English class last year as well.
Michael and Ashton gave me a smile and wave and I returned it. Luke wasn’t very welcoming though. He just nodded to me. That’s it.
“Come on guys! Ice cream, my treat!” Roxette announced.
At the ice cream parlor…..
Roxette insisted that we all share a booth, so me, Roxette and Michael were all cramped at the other couch while Luke, Calum and Ashton were all seated opposite of us.
Roxette and Michael went to order the ice cream for us. So it just left me, Luke, Calum and Ashton.
“You have a really nice name.” Ashton said, making conversation. He’s really cute with his dimple and curly hair, reminds me of Cupid. And he’s a great singer too.
“Thank you.” I blushed. I really don’t know what to say.
“Did you enjoy tonight’s performance?” It was now Calum’s turn. Calum reminds me of a guy best friend in movies.
“Yeah. You guys were really great! And it’s so cool to be performing in a mall.” I said back.
“Yeah sometimes we forget that we still have school” Calum chuckled.
Luke wasn’t really into the conversation; he just sat there fiddling with his phone.
“Here are your orders” Roxette said, bringing a tray to the table, followed by Michael with another tray.
We all chorused thank yous and started digging on our food.
“How did you and Calum meet?” Roxette asked out of nowhere. She was stuffing herself with banana split.
“I returned his guitar.” I told her before eating my mint chocolate.
“Guitar? I didn’t know you can play the guitar” Roxette asked, she raised her eyebrow. Luke raised his eyebrow and stared at me.
“One of the school band member needed to use it. Teddy just gave it back to me.” Calum answered for me before returning to his chocolate pudding.
“Yeah and you know I don’t know how to play the guitar!” I chuckled at Roxette.
“I could teach you” a voice blurted out. I was expecting it to come from Luke but it was from Ashton. He was smiling at me.
“Sure, I could use some talents. Who knows maybe I could be an opening act when you guys go to your stadium tour.” I joked. Everyone on the table laughed except for Luke. He just ate his chocolate as if he’s alone.
“By the way, did Luke brought you back to your dorm?” Calum asked seriously. He then looked over to Luke. I could feel Roxette’s eyes on me.
Luke and I looked at each other for a second. We didn't exactly talk about if we should tell them or not. It never really crossed our minds right until now.
“Yeah.” Luke answered.
“Of course. I got back early. Thanks by the way.” I filled in, smiling back at Calum who now gave his undivided attention to his ice cream.
I don’t know why but I don’t want to tell them what really happened. Luke’s face probably thinks that too. The way when we looked at each other when Calum asked that, it’s like he’s telling me not to tell a thing. And so I did.
“Why so quiet, Luke?” Ashton suddenly asked.
Everyone turned to Luke with smug faces.
“Nothing” he muttered.
“Is it about this girl again?” Michael asked him
Luke made a face that clearly says cut it out.
“Isn’t this ice cream delicious?” Roxette blurted out, breaking the tension.
“Then what are we doing? Dig in!” Calum yelled as he shoved his spoon in his melted ice cream.
Everything got so awkward. I won’t even ask about it.
I had a really good time at the mall and at the ice cream parlor.
But all good things must come to an end.
The boys insisted that we hitch a ride with them and so we did because walking home at night is not really safe.
Calum was driving while Ashton was riding shotgun.
I was seated at the left window next to Luke, then Michael then Roxette.
Ashton and Calum were talking about a new song they should practice. Michael and Roxette kept on chatting about the weirdest things. They really are perfect for each other.
I was looking out the window when Luke whispered my name.
"Yes?"
He leaned toward me. He didn't need to do it because we were so close to each other because we were all crammed into the backseat.
"Can you meet me at the stands tomorrow at 3pm?"
Huh? What for?
I didn't say what was on my mind. I just nodded. He then looked at everyone in the whole car as if to check if anyone has seen him talking to me.
After that, Luke didn’t say a word to me the whole ride. He would just look straight ahead and I would just stare at the window.
I’m sorry if this chapter kinda sucks. You can suggest on things on what to happen next. I’m really open so you can ask or talk to me about anything. Anything.
Ok hope you all like this chapter. I will update chapter 4 because I want to get to the good parts already. Love always, D.
