The Talk

Ross POV

Katie's parents in invited me for dinner. Before it was ready me and Katie watched 101 Dalmatians. I was wasn't really a big fan for it, but it was so cute watching Katie. She loved the movie. Towards the ending I fell asleep. Katie woke me up when it was dinner time. We were having pot roast. One of my favorites. After eating me and Katie's dad watched football, while Katie and her mom read magazines. Later on Katie's mom took a nap, and then Katie had to walk her dog, Sniffles. That left me and Mr. John alone. And I knew what was about to come.

"So Ross, you know that if I give you permission to date my daughter there will be rules." He said very serious, while staring at me.

"Yes sir." I said crossing my fingers hoping he would let me date that awesome daughter of his.

"And you probably already know all the rules." He said.

"Yes sir." I said. I've been through the rules before, but even if I didn't I would still know them.

"And you know that if you hurt my princess, you will be crushed. But since I know what it is like to go through what you going through now, I will also give you a chance to make up for it." He said still staring at me.

"Yes sir. Thank you." I said waiting for what comes next.

We heard footsteps coming up on the porch. It was Katie.

"I am giving you permission to date my daughter. But remember the rules!" He said.

"Thank you sir! I will take good care of your daughter!" I said right before Katie walked in.

I wanted to tell her the news right then, but her dad was there, so of course I didn't. But I was so happy.
