Across The Street

Ross POV

I was in my room... Crying. Crying, because I hurt Katie. Because I'm an idiot. Because I don't have Katie in my arms right now. And I don't even know if I ever will again. I couldn't take it anymore. I walked downstairs, to the front door, and outside. I heard my mom and dad asking me where I was going, but I didn't respond.  I just ran. I didn't know where. But I did.

Katie POV

I was still walking. Sobbing silently. Until I heard loud, fast footsteps from across the street. I looked up and saw I blondes headed boy running, looking down. Is that...

"Ross?" I asked.

Ross POV

I kept running, until I heard I quiet voice.

"Ross?" Somebody asked.

I looked up and saw her...

"Katie?" I asked.

Katie POV

"Katie?" Ross asked.

I started crying again and so did he.

"Katie... I'm so sorry." He said walking towards me.

I didn't say anything. I kept crying. He started running towards me.

"Katie..." He started.

That's when I saw it. A big truck.

"Ross! Watch out!" I screamed.

"Beep beep!"

"Ross! No!" I screamed but it was to late.

The truck hit Ross.

"No!" I screamed louder than I ever have before.

And I was crying more than ever. I called 911 and told them everything. They said they would be there in 8 minutes. I called Rydel. And she immediately started crying and told everyone else. They were there in 2 minutes. I sat down by Ross who wasn't moving, I checked his pulse. It was still going but slowly. Very slowly. I started crying Ross's name loudly. When the Lynchs got there I sat beside them crying as they freaked out. The ambulance got here and put Ross in a stretcher. Stormie got in the ambulance with him and the rest of us drove there. When we got there we followed Ross as far as we could, until the doctors stopped us. We all sat down in the waiting area. We were all crying. But I was crying the most. I couldn't look at anyone. But I finally got the guts to.

"I'm... I'm... So... So sorry." I said.

Everybody looked at me, but Stormie came over.

"No, no sweetie. It's not you fault. It's all right." She said hugging me.

1 hour later...

"Hey guys." The doctor said coming to us.

"How is he?" They all asked at once.

"I'm sorry... We don't think he is going to make it. Nothing is working. He has lost so much blood, and so many thing are broken." He said looking down.

Everybody started crying harder.

"Y'all can all go see him. One at a time... To say your... Last goodbyes." He said.

"Ok thank you doctor. Rydel you go first. Katie... Would you like to go last?" Stormie asked.

"Yes please." I said.

15 minutes later...

Everybody has gone except for me. It was now my turn...
