"Come on Cheryl, were going home."

I haven't heard that sentence in literal years.

Nostalgia and sadness hit me as I see Cheryl's parents standing up and getting ready to leave. Cheryl hesitates, glances at me, Gracie and the guys before looking at her parents.

"Can't I stay here for a while? I can just catch a ride back or something-"

"No, we haven't seen you in four months, Cheryl. We wanna talk about things," her mom says.

Cheryl glances back at me and rolls her eyes.

"Fine," she grumbles, getting up. She kisses Pete on the cheek, and he looks a little disappointed that it wasn't on the mouth. I just snicker, earning a glare from him. Then Cheryl turns to leave.

She isn't going to leave without giving me my kiss.

"Cheryl!" I screech, barreling towards her and tackling her with a hug. "Don't forget me."

I move my head back and pucker my lips as if I'm going to kiss her, and she scrunches her nose up, pushing my face away with her hand.

"Don't kiss me! That's weird."

"You kissed him." I point at Pete accusingly. He raises his hands like he's so innocent.

"Because he's my boyfriend. You're my best friend. Don't blur the lines."

"Yeah, but-" I planned to argue, but then I realized everyone was watching me weirdly. I slowly step away from Cheryl, trying to think of something to say that isn't stupid.

"Uh... no homo?"

*Cheryl's POV*

Don't get me wrong, being back home is nice, but I'm not going to lie and say I'm not lonely. I've been so used to having someone in my company every day, but now I'm just camped out in my room and texting Pete and Hailey. I literally left like five minutes ago.

Don't judge me.

So much for my parents wanting to "talk" to me. They literally walked in the door and went their separate ways, only asking me an occasional question. Suspiciously, they just wanted me away from my friends for more than a couple hours.

That ain't happenin'.

"I'm already bored. Thinking about sneaking back to Hailey's," I text Pete, who's in a hotel room with Joe, Andy, and Gracie, yawning and shoving a handful of cheez-its in my mouth.

"I'm coming too! I miss Patrick," he replies. I roll my eyes.

C- Well thanks, Pete. I miss you too.

P- I miss you too, I was only kidding

C- Mmhmm. Just meet me at... Starbucks. I'm craving coffee rn

P- You're such a white girl

C- Says the dude that wears women's Uggs everywhere. I don't wanna hear it.
