|-/Riley Dun\-|
Months later the carnival was in town. Josh insisted we go, along with bringing along his new girlfriend Debby. I've gotten to know her some, and she's actually really cool. Tyler ended up coming too, which made me feel like less of a third wheel.
"What should we do first?" Tyler asks, as we enter the carnival.
"Roller coasters?" Josh asks, looking at Tyler.
"Roller coasters." Tyler smiles, as they start to run towards one. Debby roles her eyes, as we start to go after them. I loved going on those roller coasters, until we reached one that was pretty much the nightmare of eight year old me. Up side down roller coasters were the terror of my childhood. They've always seemed so terrifying to me, and it was embarrassing to admit that still at 21 years old. Josh takes a seat next to Debby, and shoots a sympathetic look towards me. I get in the seat behind them, as Tyler sits next to me. He notices the look on my face, so then he takes me hand again. I feel a bit better, as the roller coaster starts up again which makes that feeling go away.
"You'll be fine." he whispers to me, as we go up a large slope. As we go down the big drop, the air fills with screams as we go into a loop. I scream along, all the way until the end. I felt the roller coaster come to a stop, as I freeze in place with eyes closed.
"Am I dead?" I say to no one in particular.
"Nah, you're alive." I hear Debby's voice say, which causes me to open my eyes. I see the three waiting for me to get out, so I awkwardly laugh and step out. We walked around together for a bit more, then got some food. After that Josh and Debby ditched Tyler and I to do stuff together, which left an awkward silence between us.
"Do you want to play some games?" Tyler asks suddenly, as I smile and nod.
"Watch me beat you at ring toss." I challenge him.
"Is that a challenge, Dun?" he says, as I laugh.
"It is, Joseph. Are you man enough to accept the challenge?" I ask him.
"Of course I am." he says, standing up. We then go over to the game, as I hand the man cash for my turn. I got all of them accept for one on the target, while Tyler got one less then me.
"Told you I'd beat you."
"Yeah, whatever. Time for me to chose a game." he says, grinning. He directed me over to one of the ones with a squirt gun, where you have to shoot a target and whoever's tank fills up first wins. He won, as I figured what would happen in the end. He celebrates his victory with a stuffed animal, as we both decide to stop with the games. We went over to a nice place, and stood for a bit to talk.
"So, what do you plan to do now?" Tyler asks me, as we stare off over at some kids playing a game. "Since, you know you quit college."
"I don't know. I was thinking I could possibly try to sell some art to make some cash." I tell him, as he nods.
"It could work." he says.
"So Josh told me there could be a music video for Holding On To You." I ask him, as he nods. "Have you thought of what you're doing with that?"
Tyler shakes his head. Again we were in silence, listening to the commotion going on around us. Tyler then turns to me.
"You know, Riley. I have a New Years resolution to complete."
"Hm?" I say, giving him my attention. Once I do that, he sets his hand under my chin and kisses me. I was taken a back, and was shocked. It felt like it was right, but I could faintly hear a voice inside my screaming to stop him. I didn't thought, and once he pulled away he looked to see any sign of anything on my face. I was too shocked for a moment, so I did the only thing I could think of then.
I ran.
