My face grew pale, which Josh certainly noticed. He diverted his gave out the window, only to look back at me again.
"I know you too well. You can't hide it." he tells me, as I stay quiet. I don't know what to say on the subject. "You can tell me." he says.
"Let me out of the car, Josh." I tell him sternly.
"No."
This is where I get mad.
"Joshua Dun, let me out of the damn car!" I shout.
"What the heck happened back there?!" he shouts back. I stayed quiet. He sighs in defeat, and unlocks the car. I swing the door open, and stomped out with my bag. Josh stays behind. As the screen door to the front of our house shuts, I faintly hear him groan and hit the top of the car. I paid no mind, and pushed past my parents and went up the stairs.
I plugged in my phone, which caused it to slowly turn back on. I wasn't that surprised when I kept getting text messages. I looked at every single one.
I'm sorry. -Ty
Everything alright? Did you two sort it out? -Debby
Please talk to me. -Ty
I got way more from Tyler, and only that one from Debby. I couldn't bring myself to confront this situation now, I was too tired. I got up off my bed, and locked my bedroom door. Just then it sounded like somebody tried to open it, groaning when they found it locked.
"Ri." Josh's voice sounded from the other side of the door. "Let me in."
I ignored him. I went to sleep.
Certain dreams greeted me that night. Possibly from my previous life. Some were sad, some were happy. There was a part where I looked to be probably seventeen years old, leaning against my bedroom door. I seemed mad. My thoughts were confirmed when only seconds later, I screamed and pulled at my hair. I looked around, probably for something to take my anger out on. To no avail, I sat down and cried.
I woke up, breathing heavily. To my surprise, Josh and my parents were in my room. Looking at me with worried expressions.
"Why are you in here?" I ask finally.
"It sounded like you were screaming... You must have been moving around a lot, because there were some thumps against the wall." My father says, as Josh nods in agreement.
"Dreams... Don't worry about it." I tell them, as Josh reluctantly nods. My parents make their way out of my room, as Josh stops at the door way.
"Are you mad?" he asks me, as I shake my head. I don't really have a reason too. He just wants to know what happened, but the truth is, I can't tell him. Not yet.
"No." I say finally, as he nods. He bites his lip, then turns around to close the door.
