"What?!" he exclaims. "How?"

"Your dad opened the door, and your mom was crying. He told me what happened, and asked me to tell you. They just left to go look around." I tell him, as he nods and stands up and started pacing.

"Lets both drive around. Separately." he says, picking up his keys as I nod. I then trail after him downstairs, where we both went out and went to our separate cars. I first went around to social places, like parks and restaurants, but I had no chance there.

Then after an hour or so, I decided maybe I should look over by Scioto river. Once I got there, there was a shadowy figure standing and looking out over the water. It was starting to get dark, so I hoped it was her. As I got closer, I took notice that it was her. She sat there with her arms crossed, looking down at her feet. I then came by her side, which causes her to take a glance at me. I look down, and shoved my hands into my pockets.

"You okay?" I ask, looking at her.

"Would you be in my situation?" she says quietly, still looking out over the water.

"No." I shake my head.

"I'm sorry for running off." she says. "I needed to think."

"Wanna talk about what you've been thinking?" I offer.

"I go back to college in a couple days, studying a subject I know nothing about. Apparently I have a boyfriend who goes to the same place as me too, which makes me think about how to break it to him... That I'm not the same person anymore. I have no emotional connection to him." she says, as I nod in understanding.

"That part will be hard." I say, as she frowns. She sets her arms at her sides, as I take my hand out of my pocket to grab hers. "But hey, think of this as a new start. Might be better then the first, you never know."

She smiles, looking down at our hands. "Yeah, I guess." she says. "Thanks Tyler. You're a good guy."

"Thats what friends are for."

After talking at the beach for a good while, we went back. The whole time we were there though, she didn't move her hand from mine. I didn't mind it though. We're only friends... Right?

Josh was back with his family at the place, relieved to see her once she opened the door. He engulfed his little sister in a hug, which made her smile slightly.

"Next time, tell us please." he asks, as she nods. It was great to see Josh less stressed out then earlier. Later on, all three of us were upstairs talking about music. We told her about the band, which I can tell sounded nice to her. She eventually brought out a sketchbook, and started drawing. Josh and I talked about our normal stuff, specifically about a song we plan on releasing after the New Year.

New Year, New life. And Riley's came a bit quicker then she expected.

A/N: Forgot to show the girl, Christina Grimmie, who is the one who plays Riley Dun in this story. The year currently in the book is the end of 2011.
