Mystery Girl (Camren)

Chapter 10

    Fortunately today is Saturday. After we all hung out a little while longer last night, we said our goodbyes and I made my way to my room. I couldn't sleep so I picked up my guitar and started playing. After a while I convinced myself to record it. And now I have this video that I'm not 100% sure what to do with.

    I reach for my phone to text Lauren. I almost feel like I need her input. It's only around 8:00 am so I'm not quite sure she will be awake.

Camila: good morning lo 😃 do you want to come over? I have something I want to show you.

    I hit send then make my way to the bathroom to shower and brush my teeth. When I return to my room I get dressed into some comfortable clothes and brush out my hair. It's now a little past 8:45 so I go and check my phone. Lauren answered 15 minutes ago.

Lauren: Good morning beautiful. Yeah let me just get ready and I'll be over soon😘

    I don't bother hiding the blush that's crept it's way onto my face. Instead I go downstairs for some breakfast. I'm the only one awake right now so I fix myself some cereal and go to the living room to watch tv until Lauren gets here.

    Impractical Jokers is on and I'm cracking up. I barely hear the faint knock at the door. I hurry up and rinse my bowl off in the sink before scurrying to the door. I open it and a big smile spreads across my face as I see Lauren awaiting on the other side. She's dressed a lot like me in an oversized hoodie and leggings but she still looks absolutely gorgeous.

    "Hey gorgeous." Lauren says while stepping forwards and planting a soft kiss on my lips. I blush instantly at the comment and the gesture.

    "Hi Lo." I say back nervously while staring into her amazing eyes. "Come on, come in." I open the door wider and move to the side so she can enter my house. "We can go to the living room. Are you hungry?" I ask politely as I place one arm across her stomach and the other across her back, pulling her closer to me for a brief moment as we walk into the living room. I release my hold on her to face her as I wait for her to answer.

    "I actually just ate but thank you Camz." Lauren says kindly. I lead her to sit on the couch and immediately turn to face her.

    "Ok so..." I start off nervously. She looks to me waiting for me to continue. "I couldn't sleep last night after everyone left. So I kind of recorded a video of me singing.. I wanted you to hear it first." I tell her back hesitantly. Her face lights up right away.

    "I'm honored." She says smirking. "But that's great Camila. I'd love to hear it." She says while reaching for one of my hands and rubbing the back of it with her thumb. I reach to the table for my phone with Lauren's hand still wrapped around mine. I bring up the video and hand her my phone.

    She presses play and intently focuses on the screen. I hear the video but can't see it. I feel a tiny bit embarrassed but it goes away quickly when I see Lauren smiling.

    I recorded myself singing Perfect by One Direction I put my own twist on the song and tried to make it sound a little different. The video ends and Lauren looks up at me with a huge grin.

    "That- that was beyond amazing. I can't believe your voice. I could literally listen to you sing all day long." She tells me happily while leaning in and kissing my nose. I scrunch in up in response and blush at her kind words. I'm so happy she likes it.

    "Thank you Lauren. You have no idea how much your support means to me." I tell her back while feeling butterflies erupt in my stomach because of everything going on lately. I have everything I've wanted and more. I never thought I deserved to have someone as amazing as Lauren as my girlfrie- wait. She's not my girlfriend. We literally just had our first kiss. And I'm referring to her as my girlfriend. Maybe I could make it official? I shake the thought for now and snap back into reality.
