TO SAY THAT things were awkward between Violet and Castiel was an understatement.

Violet found it increasingly difficult to remain calm around the man, mainly due to what had happened in the past with him. She wanted nothing more than to get away from him but for the meantime, she was going to be stuck with him.

Castiel had asked for Dean's assistance in finding God. Violet had already deemed the man crazy but it was this particular revelation that made her think he was insane. Shortly afterwards, Violet had been informed that Castiel was an angel and everything began to make more sense – like why he wanted to find God. The young blonde agreed to help, but only because Dean had asked. If she could have her way she'd have left by now but there was no way that Dean was going to let that happen.

Violet didn't want to be with Dean so long as Castiel was around. She wasn't angry with the older Winchester as he hadn't done anything wrong, she just needed time to adjust after what she'd found out. She needed time to herself. Thankfully, Dean respected Violet's requests and whilst he and Castiel chased down a few leads, the blonde remained alone in the motel where she studied all she could about angels and God. Violet aspired to become an excellent hunter just like Jackson, and in order to do so she needed to know everything about every supernatural and celestial being that existed.

Later that evening when the motel door opened, Violet was surprised to find that Dean was alone. As Dean hung his jacket on the back of a chair Violet diverted her attention to the book in her hands. She was completely oblivious to the fact that Dean was now sat beside her on the sofa watching her every move.

"You're alone." Violet finally spoke after a few minutes of silence. The blonde closed her book but kept her finger bookmarked on the page before turning to face Dean with her brows raised in question, "Why?"

"Cas is following up a lead on the Colt."

"The gun that can kill anything?" Dean nodded in response to the blonde's question.

"That's the one."

At this Violet gave Dean a small smile before reopening her book. Minutes passed and Dean seemed to be deep in thought. Finally he couldn't take the silence anymore and decided it be best for him to say something to the blonde.

"You know Cas isn't one of the bad guys." Dean said quietly. Violet stopped reading her book and instead focused on Dean's voice, but her eyes remained glued to the novel in front of her. "He makes mistakes, just like any other person. But for what it's worth he's a good guy."

Violet pursed her lips, "Good guys don't let innocent people die when there's something that can be done to save them."

Dean could only sigh at what Violet said. The blonde had a point and he understood why she was so angry with the angel, but at the end of the day Castiel was his friend and despite making some bad choices, he was a good person at heart. Sometimes, he just couldn't differentiate things from right and wrong.

"I'm not saying that what Castiel did was right, it was wrong. He made a mistake, but we all make mistakes. All I'm saying is; give him a chance. I was in the same position as you a couple of years ago when I found out he dragged me out of hell."

"Castiel dragged you out of hell?"

Dean gave the woman a curt nod. "Yeah, and I didn't trust him one bit. But if there's one thing I know for sure it's that he's trying to help."

"But Dean–"

"I get it, Violet. You lost someone and it hurts. Believe me, I know. And I get that part of it was Cas' fault. But I also know that if there was something that he could do, he would've done it. He has reasons for not doing things. Just maybe think about giving him a second chance?"
