DEAN MISSED SAM a lot more than he was willing to let on.
Violet assumed that this was because the older man didn't want to let his feelings get the best of him, especially not with the jobs that he and his brother took up.
Shortly after parting their separate ways with Sam, Dean had informed Violet on what she needed to know about his and Sam's past. The man didn't think that it was fair to keep her in the dark about what had happened with Sam and the whole demon blood exchange, but he didn't want to tell her everything about what had happened. Dean felt as though he should at least give Sam the chance to explain some things to Violet, it was only fair that way.
After filling Violet in on the basics of his and Sam's life, Dean had called Bobby and asked him if he had any cases for him to solve. Luckily for Dean, Bobby had one and it was simple enough for even Violet to get involved.
To say that Violet was shocked when Dean had asked her to join the hunt with him was an understatement; the blonde was bewildered. She assumed that what happened in Colorado was a one off and she was hardly expecting Dean to let her get involved in future hunts. But in Dean's eyes training Violet in the ways of a hunter would be one of the best things for her. So long as the demons were around and Lucifer was free from his cage, Violet would always be in danger.
It wasn't fair to keep her hidden in the background as though she were some damsel in distress because she wasn't. Violet had the capability to become a great hunter in the future if she received the right training, and if she wanted to be one – and she wanted nothing more than to become one. She wanted to be just like Jackson and save others. Violet wanted to be a hero.

Boredom was finally beginning to strike Violet.
After being stuck in the motel for hours on end, the blonde was beginning to find it difficult to endure the pain she was currently in.
Violet and Dean had participated in a small hunt a few hours back; a simple ghost terrorising a small town and playing cruel jokes on the townspeople. In the middle of salting and burning the ghosts remains the creature had appeared behind Violet and threw her into an empty coffin. As if things couldn't get any worse, the ghost shut the coffin and then flung it into a freshly dug grave. Thankfully Dean dealt with the ghost and had managed to get Violet out of the coffin. It had taken him a little while, but he managed to do so in the end.
Dean had decided that seeing as though they were successful in their hunt, the two should go to the bar to celebrate. It wasn't very far from the motel but Violet had decided against going. She had a searing pain in her head from being thrown around in the coffin and she wanted nothing more than to sleep it off. Dean didn't bother arguing or trying to convince her and simply left the girl to entertain herself. He was slightly saddened that Violet didn't want to accompany him, but he understood that she had her reasons for wanting to stay inside and rest. Dean would have stayed with the girl but he felt that he needed a drink, or perhaps two.
More time passed and finally Violet decided to do something other than read her book. After making her way into the bathroom and peeling her blood stricken clothes off of her limp body, Violet stepped into the shower where she let the hot water wash away all the dirt and grime off of her. Slowly but surely, the blonde allowed her mind to be free of all its thoughts and worries, even just for the next few minutes.
After finishing her shower, Violet quickly dried herself off and changed into her pyjamas. The woman was in the middle of brushing her hair when she heard something crash just outside the bathroom door. If she hadn't been paying attention to what was going on in the background, Violet was sure that she wouldn't have even heard the noise – it was so slick, so silent that it was as if it hadn't happened.
