Adison's POV:
I couldn't seem to get Shawn's attention in english, even though he was clearly as bored as I was, the professor sounding like background noise to my busy thoughts.
Is he interested in me?
I thought as i ran my pencil eraser delicately across the words on my paper. God what I would do just to have a sweatshirt covered in that beautiful, comforting, natural musk of Shawn.
My professor quickly ends his class by telling us about an essay we have due in a week, making the whole room sigh with disapointment. The last semester, I've heard from others, he swamps everyone in papers, and not easy papers either.
"But with this essay," he pauses everyone from packing up their laptops, that they were taking notes on. I close out of my word document rolling my eyes, there's always a "but".
"You will be meeting up with a partner of your choice, and the two of you will be working on your interpretation of Romeo and Juliet, what you think it means, deeper than the common understanding."
We all look around at each other, for all the semesters each of us have been here none of us really talked to one another. Each of us had our little groups of friends we stuck too, it's kind of late to try to make new friends. Don't get me wrong, we're all friendly, but no one ever got past basic conversation.
The girl next to me grumbles, "Are you kidding me?" As she shoves her textbook into her backpack. I just smile because I was thinking the exact same thing. This is rediculous.
Just then there's a tap on my shoulder and I turn around to see a nervous, yet goofy grin plastered on the familiar face.
Shawn.
"W-would you like to be partners?" He stutters, running his hand through his beautiful soft looking locks. That action alone made me want to kiss his face off but I mentally had to shame myself for thinking like that.
Jesus Adison you just met the poor guy. Maybe that's why he doesn't talk to girls like you
The hesitancy in my answer causes him to become anxious, his eyes darting everywhere, "o-only if you want," His voice is quieter this time.
Man he's so scared.
"Yeah I'd love too," I smile, turning back to my books, "where do you want to meet up to start working on it?" A million places run through my head, one of them being my house but I think that's a little too personal for Shawn's liking, especially seeing how nervous he is.
"What about my dorm room? And don't worry there won't be 4 obnoxious guys there, it's only just me and Ian and half the time Ian is at his girlfriends. I just think it would be quieter. You know, rather than going to a cafe or something." He gives me a hopeful, yet sincere look, making my heart melt the slightest.
God he's just so beautiful and kind, it all is so random for shawn to just start talking to me. We had many opportunities before now.
"Sounds perfect, should we start tomorrow?" I zip up my bag and swing it around my shoulder. Me and him are the only two left, even the professor has somewhere to be. Who knew?
"Yeah," he practically laughs out of excitement, his whole face beaming, "I live in the wolf lodge complex, room 207, it'd be best if you showed up at about 8 pm."
I mentally check my schedule to see if that interferes with anything, quietly praying that it doesn't but to my luck I'm completely free.
"Wolf lodge 8 pm, got it," I confirm grabbing my house key, "see you then stranger," my fist playfully makes contact with his shoulder, causing him to dramatically stumble into one of the thick wooden desks.
"Ouch," he pouts, holding his shoulder.
"Soooo dramatic," I roll my eyes moving past him and up the stairs to the door, he runs past me and makes it out before I can, and he looks back as he's halfway down the hall raising his eyebrows before catching up to who is probably Ian.
This boy, I think to myself, will be the end of me.
