I was walking down the hallway of Wammy's House. I don't really know why I left my bedroom. I just had the desire to walk out of my warm and cozy room, into the darkness of this cold orphanage. I felt a strange presence, as if someone was watching me. It was already midnight. The moon being the only source of light that illuminated the long hall. I was heading for the kitchen, seeking for a late night snack. Maybe a granola bar or cookies. Or maybe just milk or water. The hallway was quiet. There was no sound but my footsteps. Everyone was asleep. Or at least that's what I thought.

"Psst." I heard. I spun around, waiting for the worst to come. "(Y/N)... What are you doing up so late?" I heard a familiar voice say. I felt uneasy. I have a small fear of the dark. It's not too serious though. But right now I was terrified. "Show yourself!" I whispered... Or shouted. The familiar voice chuckled, then proceeded to walk out from the shadows until I eventually was able to make out a figure. The voice belonged to a man with brown hair and dark blue eyes. He was wearing a red and black stripped long sleeve top, blue pants, and a pair of goggles. And to finish off the look he wore black gloves and black boots. I let out a sigh of relief, unaware that I had held in my breath. "Matt... For a moment I thought there was an intruder." I said. Matt chuckled once more. "As if. Even if there was an intruder to start with I would have already beaten his ass down with one quick punch." He said quite confidently. I huffed and rolled my eyes, before grinning at how positive Matt seems to believe he would have defeated this intruder. "Anyways, you didn't answer my question." Matt said. I furrowed my brow and stared at him. Realizing what he meant I lightly gasped and answered him. "I couldn't fall asleep and I was bored. So I decided to go sneak into the cafeteria to steal a snack." I said plainly. Matt laughed and shook his head. He closed his eyes and looked down as he continued to laugh at my rebellion. The way his hair swayed from side to side and how the moon shone upon him making him look 10x cooler than he already is. I admired him. I guess you can say I'm quite attracted to this Matt dude. But what do you expect, we have been close friends ever since I first arrived at Wammy's House 5 years ago. "(Y/N)?" I heard Matt say, catching my attention immediately. "Yeah?" I responded. Matt went quiet for a moment. "You kinda... Zoned out there." He said, laughing adorably. My eyes widened and my cheeks started to heat up. Oh how embarrassing! Hopefully he doesn't grow suspicious. "I- I did? Oh heh I guess I'm so hungry I'm starting to lose focus ahaha." I stuttered. Matt stared at me confused. He thought for a bit... Who knows what on earth that boy can be thinking about. He then suddenly grabbed onto my wrists and pulled me towards the end of the hall, where the cafeteria was located.

Matt rushed to the cabinets and began looking for food, I'm assuming. Considering Matt and his strange habits he probably has a pack of cigarettes or a gaming console hidden in there. I was sitting at a nearby table waiting for Matt to come out from the kitchen with food... Hopefully it was food. After a few minutes of looking Matts eyes lit up as he seemed to have found what he was looking for. "This looks satisfying enough." I heard him mutter. Matt came out with a bag of marshmallows and two forks. I stared at him with disbelief. Please tell me he's not gonna do what I think he's gonna do. Matt set the bag of marshmallows in front of me and handed me a fork. I grabbed the fork and stared at it. I don't know why in the world I would need a fork to eat marshmallows. But what surprises me the most is that Matt actually decided to use kitchen utensils for once. I looked up at Matt. "Who the hell eats marshmallows with a fork?" I questioned. Matt hummed and looked at me. "I do." I furrowed my eyebrows. "Why?" Matt shrugged. "I just do. I like it. It's satisfying." He said before popping a marshmallow into his mouth. I continued to stare at him and watched him eat the marshmallows off the fork. Matt seemed to notice my stare and coughed. "Y'know, it's rude to stare like that." Matt said in a 'as a matter of fact' voice. I shook my head and looked down. "(Y/N)." Matt said. I didn't look up. It's not like I was embarrassed or anything, I'm just too tired to look up. I think it's about time I'd sleep. It is 1 am after all.

I heard shuffling around me before strong arms were wrapped around my shoulders. I immediately looked up, shocked. Matt had disappeared from his original spot, indicating that he was the one who was hugging me. I could feel my cheeks burning up. There's no doubt I'm as red as a tomato right now. "M-Matt." I began. "Ssh. I'm enjoying the moment." He said. I gulped. I could feel my heart beating faster and faster the longer he stays in this position. I felt strange. Like my stomach was doing backflips and summer salts. But what's even more shocking is that.... That I'm actually enjoying this moment too.

"(Y/N)." Matt began. I shuddered, his voice sending shivers down my spine. "I... You know I like you right?" He said. I froze. He likes me? As in... He thinks of me more than just a friend? I turned around to face Matt. "I-"
"(Y/N)" Matt interrupted. "I really really like you. I can't express how much I want to be with you. I always have to fight the urge to pin you against the wall and give you kisses. I have to fight the urge to hug you and cuddle and watch movies and all that couply stuff people do. I... I want you so badly, (Y/N)." Matt finished. By now my cheeks were a deep scarlet color. I could get a nosebleed any second now. I looked into Matts eyes and could see how hopeful he looked. I couldn't help but smile. I tackled Matt in a hug and started giggling. "You don't understand how long I've been waiting to hear that." I said. I heard Matt sigh as he wrapped his arms around me and gave me a huge bear hug. "So you feel the same way?" Matt asked. I chuckled. "Of course! I thought it was obvious." Matt picked me up and began spinning me around. "I mean it kinda was. But my brain kept making up stupid reasons to make me believe you weren't interested at all." I let go of Matt and stared into his eyes. "Well now you know how much I like you." I said. I stood on my tippy toes and pecked Matt on the cheek. I look at him and saw he was making a funny face. It's actually quite adorable. I laughed. "Why are you so weird?" I asked. Matt grinned. "Maybe I act like this when you're around." He stated. "(Y/N)?" "Hm?" "Why are you so perfect?"
