This is not good.

My classmates laid beaten on the ground, battered while some barely had the energy to stand.

I was no different. I was thrown away by that powerful punch of that lizard so many times that I could barely sit up straight now as I pant for air.

I looked over at my green bar and noticed that it was already on the yellow zone, just inches away from red. Meanwhile, the lizard before me still had a good chunk of health as it roars in might.

I need to think of something! A way to defeat this beast! There was no way I would let my first boss battle ended in failure. Not a chance!

...but what can I do? When it had come to this, then surely it means that my level was not high enough or I was wearing the wrong equipments. Yeah, that's right.

This is wrong!

Yeah, I should just retreat and come back later. I mean, I almost got all of its pattern figured out. I could just run away, think of an efficient strategy and come again.

I need to stop what I am doing right now!

Its always like this in every game right? The first battle is usually held as a means to read the opponent! Yeah, that's it!

I need to run!

Pathetic!

"RAAAARGH!"

As the lizard before me roar again causing a small quake to the roar, it began to move. I flinched in fear and pathetically pushed my hands backwards as it drags my body with it.

"No.. don't come any closer..."

I could even tell just how weak and broken I sounded as the lizard moves forward slowly, each step it takes just makes the stronger the fear in me grows.

"RARGH!!!"

It let out one more mighty roar and I shut my eyes tightly in fear, preparing myself for the worst.

That was when it happened.

I felt a huge blast of wind passing by forcing my eyes to open. Running towards the lizard with a silent cry and sword in hand, Ansar charged towards the lizard with all his might.

While others had called out to his name and cheered for him, I was different. I could only sat there, feeling absolutely disappointed at myself. I could not bring myself to cheer because of the sheer disappointment I have for myself...

..and this ever present jealousy growing more stronger than ever.

No. Not this time.

Ansar delivered a silent four hit-combo countless of times, making use of every advantage the size of the lizard could give. As expected from the class's genius, he had figured out everything about this lizard completely. Now it's only a matter of time before he-

"No! I won't let you take spotlight! Not while I'm still here!"

I rose up to my feet, clenching my fist tightly as I emptied my mind to focus on this very attack. Concentrate everything into one single point and let it burst, chant the incantations with the utmost perfection and most of all..

... image my victory!

"O heavenly skies, purge thy enemy with thou roaring blades, [Thunder]!"

Ansar had finished his rampage and was frozen in movement due to the cooldown he had to go through because of his barrage. The huge greatsword was about to slam down onto him before a large blast of thunder rained down on the lizard, electrifying it but it wasn't enough to kill but enough to give the paralysed effect.
