"Three days. Three days is what I would give for you to give me an answer, despite how unnecessary it would be."
The mocking voice seep into my ears as I unable to block it out with my fear-paralysed hands. I could feel my heartbeat fasten even more as I started to lose my calmness. Having such truth and now this happening right in front of me..!
Why? Why does this have to happen?! Just when things have taken a turn for the better!
"WHY ME?! WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT WITH ME?!"
By now, I was no longer restraining everything. Every word that escapes my mouth was full of anger, hatred, sadness. I could no longer think at all. I do not wish to anyway. I just want everything to be fed to me already. I was already long numb from the fullness of having to know things without my consent...
...I just want answers and have all this to end...
"By the time the 75th Floor, I have granted permission for the priestess to reveal the truth to them should you desire to not tell them yourself. As regretful as it is, there exist beings that could defy me but never be mistaken. Defy and topple me are two different matter.Nevertheless, once the truth is out, they will come after with full force."
Ion knew about this as well, huh? No surprise, she protects the core.. possibly from Yggdrasil and as such, she knew what he was after. Why was she not willing to tell us the truth..? Yggdrasil must have threatened her, huh?..possible... I don't care any more...
"So, you want me to fight them in your stead? And what makes you think that they won't be broken after knowing that all they had done only served to doom their world?"
"Oh, broken they shall but I assure you that they will fight. Tenacious fools they are after all."
"Tsk. So what? That doesn't explain WHY YOU NEED ME!!"
"Do you believe in miracles, Izzy? I for one, do. As such, I rather not have something as petty as that to be my end. That is why I require you, to assure such things never happen. You may say I want you to break them even more to have their trusted leader be standing on their way so that they may never stand at all."
So in a way, I'm a disposable tool for him now, huh? He never really did mention whether or not I would actually win against them. But in the end, they would break to have me betray them and I would soon break as well having cut whatever bonds I have left. As if I would agree to that...
...right?
"You won't leave me, right? Right? ....Hey! Answer me!"
"You wavered, Izzy. Haha. I shall await for your answers. Till then, enjoy what little grace period you have left."
Turning his back towards me, Yggdrasil marched forward into the swirling the darkness that emerged from the crystalline ground, leaving me behind as I dropped down only having my arms as support from making me completely lay on the ground lifelessly.
Why? Why me?
...
Morning came judging from the brightening sky despite the lacking of the sun and I find myself walking to the inn located at 1st floor, where our base was to find the others already up and about walking towards me.
I fought back the thoughts that had been making a mess on my head and put it to the side yet it served fruitless when I could even still hear the echo of the cold voice of Yggdrasil and the feeling of black hope in me.
Yet, I still pull through and put up the character that they all had come to know.
"Hey! What are you guys doing being up so early?", I asked and was thankful that I did not sound broken at all yet I inwardly flinched at how jovial I sounded, fortunately none took suspicion in that.
