CHAPTER 18

"Michael, can you go and get your aunt while I do this?"
"Of course baby."
"Dad, come over here and take my hands."
There was the same small power increase and the link was in place.
"What are you doing?"
"Aunt Gwen that was me adding Dad to my power link, once a power joins they are connected to all in the link and become a little stronger in power. Do you wish to join?"
"I would love to Conner dear."
Another in the link, that's five including myself. It felt a little strange being connected to different people but I knew more was to come. Will I make a good leader? Will people really follow me? Will I stop this war?
"Dearie, you have no need to worry. I would not have joined if I didn't believe in you. It has nothing to do with the fact you're now family. A good leader asks, which you did. A good leader offers kindness, which you did. A good leader knows if he needs help to ask, you do. Don't doubt yourself, I see a very good leader in you."
"Thank you Aunt Gwen."
I was getting slightly emotional and had no idea why. Me and Peter went back to looking through the rest of the pack. We found three more spies and it saddened me to think these people could turn their backs on friends and family.
"Come here baby."
Michael pulled me onto his lap and held me tightly in his arms.
"I don't get it, it can't just be about money. These people were going to rat on friends and family, people they grew up with."
"Sometimes the seed is already there. Find people that already hate something and it's easy to bend them to your will. Take Mr Denver for example, he must have been homophobic before he was recruited and that has been why he had so much venom in his comments. We will find out that most of the people in the cells have some form of hate that made them an easy target for this war. But you baby, are full to bursting with love and kindness and you show it in so many ways. Don't let their hate bring you down."
I hugged Michael tightly, unable to speak after his kind words. After about twenty minutes Dad knocked on the door to tell us dinner was ready.
"I'm too comfy to move."
"Making me carry you again. There is now a fee for this taxi service, a very big kiss."
I lifted my hand to his face, tracing my fingers over his lips and leaned in to kiss him, which lasted a few seconds before he took over.
"Quit eating the boy and come eat your dinner."
We were so into the kiss that we didn't hear the door open. "We're coming Papa."
I started to giggle as we went to the kitchen and had a great dinner. The pack was finally clear but we still went back to the office to discuss what to do next.
"Conner, baby I think we should have a meeting with the pack. I don't want people turning up and the pack not know why."
"Michael's right, you've got to remember it's not just rare wolves that are on the way here but other supernatural's as well."
"What if they want me to leave instead of bringing the war here?"
"Then I'll find somewhere they can go, you're going nowhere."
'Knock, knock'
"Come in."
"Alpha, I mean Michael, there's a woman who's at the gate wishing to speak with you. Said to say 'I like to be in the know'."
"Bring her to the office please."
"That must be Eve, she said she would be here soon."
"Well I can tell from the message that she's part of the Knowledge but is she a power or an Alpha?"
"She's an Alpha. Not found her mate yet but with powers on the way you never know."
'Knock, knock.
"Come in Alpha Eve it's nice to meet you."
Before we could say anything else both Eve and Peter said "Mate."
"I would love to talk to you soon but first, Jorge explain what's going on?"
"You know of my son Michael and this is his mate Conner, the blue wolf. It's started Eve, now we have to prepare for the upcoming fight."
"Hello Conner it's a pleasure to meet you. If it's not rude to ask, what power were you gifted with?"
"It's not rude to ask, how else would you find out if not by asking? I was gifted with all of them."
"Okay, that wasn't in the legend. All of them! Really!" "Elzar would like to have words with you all. Michael, if Elzar talks to you could you repeat it for everyone?"
"Of course baby, whatever you need."
"We don't know if you know, we established the Knowledge the last time we were here. So long we have waited to find our mate, this is the eighth time we have come but only the first to find him. We started the Knowledge to help our new host, we knew he would need help as we got stronger every time we came back. We can help with instinctual power but the rest is up to you. Michael, strong mate, will have to be stronger but of the mind. Tricks and schemes will try to be played. Trust your instincts and Conner, they will not fail you."
"Elzar and his last host set up the Knowledge, I never realized it had gone on for so long. Let's leave Peter and Eve the room while we get the kids and show you their rooms."
As we left we heard the boys upstairs talking away to my Mum.
"Looks like they are already showing it off."
