CHAPTER 24

We lead the twins over to the secret doorway hidden under the stairs.
"Really Andrew, you thought writing 'Andrew was here' was a good way to mark the button."
"What would you have wrote? Secret button to secret underground lair here. Let's go, I want to see what else was in that secret room."
We all laughed at the two best of friends bickering but I must admit I wanted to know as well, the last host, Reece, seems to have put a lot of thought into what would be needed for the upcoming war. That was a scary thought, not just the war, but me being a leader. I'm so used to being ignored or invisible to people, how am I supposed to lead anyone. Leaving that for now before I make myself sick with worry. We all made our way to the 'office' and reopened the room Reece left us. The look on the twins faces was priceless and I started to giggle until Elzar interrupted.
"Last host very smart, room spelled so nothing deteriorates, everything is as if just put there. Very smart. Nothing to forgive, Goddess protect."
"Reece was very smart indeed. I take it its safe for everyone to go in."
"Yes host, no danger, safeguarding is in place for any who enter.
Closing the link I relayed what Elzar just told me thinking this could be a good place for those who can't fight. As we walked in I think everyone's eyes were all over the place, the corridor was at least triple the normal size and lined with weapons for all races. I stopped everyone when we reached the Fae weapons and spoke to the twins.
"Axton, Brick these here are the Fae weapons, when you come of age one of these weapons will be your primary but you will carry others. This armour, from what Elzar tells me, is specially designed and will change with you when you go into wolf form. Your weapons, incredibly, are spelled to change with you as well. Now Axton, your up first. I want you to close your eye's and concentrate on the power you fell building inside, I will move you slowly down the line here, tell me when you fell a pull towards a weapon and we'll stop. Okay."
"Our birthday is still a couple of weeks away, will this work?"
"Yes, your power is already there and growing fast. Connecting to your primary will help."
Doing as I said I lead him slowly down the line and stopped in front of the swords.
"Michael is it just me or do all the Fae weapons look like they came straight out of Lord of the Rings?"
"I was thinking The Hobbit myself."
Giggling I asked Axton to reach out his right arm and pick up the weapon he had the strongest feelings for. The sword he picked was gorgeous and had its own scabbard and belt, as soon as he took it out it started to glow, showing its connection with its user. Brick did the same and his primary was a longbow, both choose dual long knives that had scabbard's build into the jacket of their armour. Putting their newly acquired equipment back in the 'office' we all made our way to the end of the corridor. The room we entered was enormous, about the size of two (British) football pitches and seemed to have designate area's, from normal sleeping, medical care, kids play zone to a creche. Other sections were for the different races like potion ingredients, armour replacement, a forge for fixing weapons, the list went on and on.
"Is anyone else seeing this, and listen 'Echo, Echo, Cookie, Echo' it's so big it broke my echo."
"Andrew would you behave."
Michael didn't find it very funny until I burst out laughing, then everyone joined in.
"Son, look over here. That is a training ring, it can customise itself to you on your own or with instructions from an instructor. A dome of power goes over the whole thing to prevent any magic from hitting someone outside of the ring."
"Well that's going to be used a lot, especially when more people arrive. Andrew can you feel that?"
"Yeah."
Across the room was an alter and both me and Andrew could feel the power coming from it. Elzar was telling me that the alter will replace power that you have used. I touched it and not only me but everyone I had connected to by the link began to flare in power. I sent an apology through the link with the promise to explain later.
"Ok, didn't know that would happen. This alter is like a giant battery giving you back any magic you've used but because of the link I made we all got a boost. If when the time comes we have someone with a power down here, one touch and everyone would regain their magic. This could be our secret weapon."
"We'll have to get Dr Green down here to check the medical side of things but this is all amazing."
"We could ask Steven at our next appointment."
"No I would rather ask him now. The more time he has to check everything the quicker we can get anything else that he might need."
"Steven, can you meet me and Conner in our office. Nothing is wrong we just have a few things to ask you."
"Yes, I can be there in half an hour."
"That's fine, see you then."
