CHAPTER 25

Xander and Andrew were nice enough to go and get boxes and packing tape, so for the next twenty minutes we packed up all the paper work we found in the 'office'. We also found a stash of money and jewellery. It looks like every rogue that came here looking for a pack to join was killed and their possessions taken. I sent a silent prayer to the goddess to grant them a better life in their next one. Them being reborn was all I could hope for. We packed everything up to give to the council as a representative was scheduled to arrive the next day. I'm hoping that the families can be found and told so they no longer worry. We left the twins and Alex to finish as we went back to meet with Steven. My Dad, Xander came with his reasoning was to not let us go unprotected, I think he just doesn't want to let me out of his sight. I activated my spirit power as we made it to the office meeting Steven outside the door.
"Steven I'm glad you could be here. We have some things to ask and possibly show you. I'm going to tell you things that at the moment the pack doesn't know. I know I can trust you because well I'm cheating. One of my powers helps me see a person's aura from that I can tell how good or bad they are. I am the newest host for the blue wolf, the last host was very clever and left a bunker full of equipment for us to use in the war that's coming. I am asking firstly if you wish to stay in the pack or if you want to leave?"
"If what you say is true, that a war is coming then medical care will be needed. I can't leave knowing it could cause someone's life and I have babies to deliver. I would like to stay."
"Thank you. Unfortunately it is true. There is a legend all about it, it killed my parents and almost killed me. Now the other reason we asked you here was my wolf's last host, Reece, set up a medical unit in the bunker but seeing as he did this a thousand years ago I know medicine has moved forward a lot. We would like you to look and see what newer equipment you need so that we can get it here before you might need it. I did notice some journals that may help with things you are unfamiliar with. If you're not too busy we can take you down to have a look."
"Yes I'm free right now. I cleared my schedule after you asked me to meet you. So where is this bunker?"
"Well just like Harry Potter, we have to go to the cupboard under the stairs."
So the four of us made our down with Steven after the terrible joke Michael told but Elzar wished to speak to the Doctor.
"Ok Elzar I'll let you take over to speak with him."
"Thank you host. Doctor we are Elzar the blue wolf. We stopped traps that were on staircase. We knew poison darts shoot out. We wish for you to collect them so no more danger to mate or hosts family. Mate we are so happy we are having pups. We will speak again."
I knew as soon as I had control but looking at Michael I saw the sheen of tears in his eyes.
"Michael what's wrong?"
My dad took Steven further down the corridor as Michael spoke with me.
"Apart from the fact that Elzar is so happy about the babies it seems that the both of you saved our lives the first time we came down here. Elzar told Steven there was poison darts in the wall. All I keep thinking is what would of happened if you had not come with us."
I immediately hugged his waist.
"You can't think like that. Its the what if's that do you in. What if you got sent to a different pack? What if you didn't want to be mated to me? Do you think that I have not had these thoughts. That me being some kind of leader when I'm so used to being ignored doesn't scare me. I need you to help me and if that means I have to save your life all over again then I will, as many times as I have to because I can't do this without you."
He held me tightly as I cried.
"I'm sorry baby. Everything just seemed to hit me and I didn't know what to do. But one thing is certain, we have to sit down and talk about what we are feeling so this doesn't happen again. I can't lose you either."
"You're right. We can do that later. We better catch up with the others."
As we walked in the circular chamber I heard my Dad ask the doctor about how to clear the room safely of all the rape and torture equipment so that it could be sent along with the council members. We arrived next to them as we heard the reply.
"I would get a big roll of bubble wrap and pack everything individually before boxing it all up. Put extra wrap on the knives for safety and if you can get cardboard tubes and put them inside. Just make sure that you pack everything tightly."
"Thanks. Conner you mum went out shopping with Gwen and Eve so I'll ask her to pick up the supplies."
"Ask her to pick up a lot of sage. We burn it to cleanse the room once its empty just don't expect me to be the one to do it. I still can't go near the room."
"Don't worry son I wouldn't let you near that room anyway."
Is it wrong to feel great that I have an overprotective dad? I always wanted a dad when I was younger. We escorted Steven to the bunker and I had to laugh at the same expression he had because just like the twins he was speechless.
