CHAPTER 23
The load noise of stone moving stopped after a minute or two then complete silence.
"Hey, someone want to tell the blind guy what's going on?" "Sorry baby, there's an other corridor but this one is a little different."
"What do you mean?"
"Son, the whole corridor, on both sides, is full of weapons. Every race has a different section, that last host must have been stockpiling these for years, goddess bless that man."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, all this stuff wouldn't just help me but every person who decided to join the fight.
"We have to give the twins the option of the Fae weapons to train with, they will have an affinity with a certain type of weapon the closer they get to their birthday. Now, before we look in there I'm going to try this collar on." Opening the necklace style box and seeing the collar for the first time I was shocked by the beauty of it. It was simple in design with five different gems depicting the five different powers on a piece of leather that was black in colour but it was perfect to me. Putting it on I felt tiny needles, from where the gems, and hissed and closed my eyes in surprise for a few seconds but then the most amazing thing happened. After locking in place around my neck, I could see. Everywhere I turned I could see all the different colours and I couldn't take everything in. "Michael, I can see, I can see. Wow, please bin that shirt, yellow is so not your colour."
Laughing as he grabbed me and hugging the life out of me. "I think you'll find that this is mustard not yellow baby. Now you get to see this ugly mug all the time, think you can handle that?"
"I'll try and make that sacrifice."
We were both laughing when I looked to my Dad. The smile on his face was priceless but one person I knew would be more than happy was my Mum. Turning to face Andrew and had a slight shock, right in the centre of his chest, where heart would be, was a ball of fire. I was so mesmerized that I nearly missed what Andrew was saying. "Conner your looking at me kind of strange. I know I'm better looking than that big lug you got stuck with but you should save that for when he's not about."
"I would definitely not go that far but that is not why I was starring at you. Your power resides in your chest and looks like a fireball, either that or you have major heartburn." "Oh my god Michael, he's as funny as you are. You're lucky I like you Conner. Let's go get some lunch before it's too late and we have to go to the pack meeting."
We left the underground rooms and made our way back up the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Mummy, Daddy, we made lunch with Nana and Papa's." "You did? It all looks very yummy. Let's go sit at the table." "Mummy, can I help you to the table?"
"Oh Richard, that is so helpful of you."
Kneeling down to his level.
"Guess what, Mummy got this magical collar and now I get to see what a handsome little helper I have. I know how much you like to help and I may not need it as much right now but soon we're going to have the babies, me and Daddy are going to need lots of help. You and Gavin will be big brothers and have to look out for them. Can you do that for me?"
"YES, me and Gavin will be the bestest big brothers ever." "Conner come and sit down before all these sandwiches are gone."
"Yes Mum. I have something to tell you and the others, a very old friend left me a gift. This collar connects to my powers making them more stable. It also gave me my sight. I can see Mum."
To say she was happy was an understatement as she started to cry and cuddle into me like only a mum can.
"Do I look good, I'm a little scarred to look?"
"Oh sweetie, I'm a little biased. I have always thought you're gorgeous and I'm sure that mate of yours would say the same thing. Come over here."
Leading me over to the wall where a mirror was hanging I saw for the first time...me. Dark brown hair and green eyes, I thought I looked okay, not to big myself up. I started to tear up but saw Michael in the reflection and seeing him smile at me was everything. Just then the twins and Zeb walked in, the cloud of sadness seemed to follow all three of then but did seem a little better then when we had left them.
"Better grab something quick before it's all gone, this family all try and eat together and seeing as how you're family now, hurry up."
"Yes Michael."
We all started to laugh as the three of them said that at the exact same time. After that lunch was all light conversion and eating. My boys were telling me of how they liked helping Papa J(orge) and Papa D(aniel) make all the sandwiches and Nana said that in the afternoon they were going to make cakes while we had our pack meeting. I was starting to get nervous and worried about the outcome of the next few hours.
"I know your worried but it won't change what will happen baby. You know everyone in this house has your back and a lot of people who are coming will as well. Come on, its time."
I thought long and hard and decided not to let people know I could see until we knew who would stay. Michael agreed with me so we made it look like he was guiding me to the front of the stage.
"Savage Howlers, I asked you here today to give some grim news. As an Alpha, we are taught of a legendary wolf that is blue in colour and blind in nature, he will become a leader of many, bringing different races together and stop a war that is to come. Eighteen years ago a group of people started to target any wolf that was blind as a result Conner lost his birth parents but was put in a human orphanage, that in my opinion saved his life. Conner is the blue wolf the legend spoke of, because of this he has become a beacon to all who wish to join the fight but also who would fight against us. We both wish to offer you a choice, to stay and help or for us to find you another pack that will take you in."
"As your Luna, my job in this pack is to look out for all of you, whether that be physically or emotionally. I know this not something to be taken lightly, I do not want you to feel pressured into staying. No one will make you feel bad if you decide to leave. I give you the choice that I can not be given, the Goddess has set my path and I must follow where she leads. All I can ask is if you decide to go you tell nobody of me, I say this not for my safety but for yours. I do not want to see anyone hurt because of me."
"We freely give you time to decide but we must know by the end of the week. Pack dismissed."
Before we even left the stage all unmated warriors wolves declared to stay and fight. Zeb was another to say he was staying, throughout the pack people started to announce their decision to stay. Tears of gratitude were rolling down my face and I could see the look of pride on Michael's face.
By our count nearly half the pack had said they would stay while the rest had yet to decide. Leaving the stage we made our way back in the house and into the office. It was only then that I noticed the twins and my Dad had been guarding me the whole time.
"Axton, Brick we have a few things we have to tell you. After we left the office, we were discussing the need to find the secret rooms the old Alpha had been hiding... You know what, it'll be easier to just show you."
