CHAPTER 22

We could hear the rest of the family in the kitchen making lunch. I was stopped before going in and enveloped in a hug by Michael.
"Andrew, we have to find those secret rooms, goddess knows what we'll find now after hearing that."
"Michael, we just passed the stairs, didn't we?"
"Yeah baby, why?"
"There's a draft coming from the wall, I don't know if there is a door but I would start there."
As my power of spirit was still on I saw Andrew make his way over.
"I can feel the draft you spoke of Conner but can't find a way in."
Switching my power off I made my way out of Michael's arms and towards the wall. I could feel the panel's of wood that covered there and felt one part slightly more worn, pressing it I heard a click just to the left of me. Keeping my hand on the button I found I spoke to Michael.
"Michael, my hand is on a button that just clicked something to my left, can someone get something to mark this so you can find it again, it is hidden in the design of the wood panels."
When I felt tingle's on my arms I knew Michael was holding me, so I knew my Dad or Andrew went to find a marker or something.
"Conner, the panel you opened has a staircase leading down. I had no idea this was here and I was one of his personal guards. The other two guards disappeared after his death, they must have been the one's Zeb killed, they were just as cruel as him. They had volunteered to be with him were I was given no choice. I hope you both know I would have helped Yvonne had I known or went to the council sooner."
I could feel the guilt my Dad was starting to carry and had to put a stop to it now.
"Dad, you can't put this all on you, of course you would have helped because your a good man but anyone from the pack could have informed the council of what was happening including Zeb, but fear is very powerful and some find it easier to ignore and stay safe than to stand and fight. We know we'll have to give that option to stay or go when we talk to the pack, some will just be to scared when they find out what's happening."
The thought that most of the pack leaving hurt my heart. I knew we could not force people to stay, they never asked to be in this position. I envied them the option to go knowing I have to stay, the fear of what could happen hit me hard and felt Michael tighten his grip."
"Don't let the what if's win before we've even started to get ready. You are so much stronger than you know baby." "Only if you do the same thing, I know that you were thinking about if he had got me."
"Deal baby, do you want to come and check what's down there?"
"Yeah but tell your Dad's not to let the boy's near here." Andrew had returned with a marker pen and I was grateful as my arm was getting tired, the button was about my head height. Moving over to give Andrew room to mark were my hand had been.
"Let's just have a quick look the now, we can take a proper look through everything later and see what we can hand over to the council."
We were slowly making our way down the stairs when Elzar started to go crazy.
"STOP, GET THEM TO STOP. There are traps."
"Everyone stop right now, Elzar said there are traps about."
"We can find them, let us take over, must keep mate safe." "Ok, keep us all safe."
I could feel Elzar take control and switch on all five powers at once.
"Mate, place your right hand on the wall you should feel a switch."
"Done, what now?"
"Father of my host, feel to your left about waist."
"Found it."
"Traps are now switched off, still be careful mate. We will speak again soon, yes?"
"Yes Elzar, I look forward to it."
I felt my powers switch off and control being given back to me.
"Baby thank the goddess you decided to come with us. If Elzar hadn't warned us who knows what would have happened. The four of us have to be extra careful about what we touch."
We finished going down the stairs and down a corridor that lead to the south.
"Baby there's a circular room up ahead. Is Elzar still saying it's safe?"
"So far so good."
As we entered the circular chamber Michael was telling me what they saw.
"Baby, there are three rooms that branch of this room, let's all stick together to look."
Doing as Michael suggested we all made our way to the room on our left.
"Michael, I can't go in there, the emotions that are left behind are too much."
Michael opened the door and closed it soon after.
"It seems 'he' was into torture and rape. Let's just go to the next room."
The next room was a couple of cells thankful they were empty. The final room seemed to be 'his' secret office. "Michael what is that, I can see something on the wall. Michael I'm not using a power."
"It our collar. We need it to help with our powers. Tell mate no danger."
"Thank you, I was worried."
"Michael, Elzar says not to worry, it's something for our powers."
"Baby I don't see anything but a bookcase. What can you see that we can't?"
"There's a rainbow light about my height on the right." I walked over to the bookcase trying to find a button or switch to open the small hatch I could see.
"Ask for mate's help. This has never been opened before, old Alpha never saw this here. Must have been here for long time. Switch must be somewhere."
"Michael, I can't find a way to open the hatch. Can you help, it might be too high for me?"
I heard him walk over and start to look.
"Baby there's a book right at the top that may open it. The title is 'The Blue Wolf'."
I know he must have done something when the hatch opened in front of me. For the first time in my life I saw...the range of colours hurt my unused eye's but calmed down after awhile, a small but long box was inside the hatch and I slowly lifted it and placed it on the desk behind me.
"Conner, there's a letter as well. Do you want me to read it?"
"Please do Dad."
"Ok here goes 'Dear blue wolf, if you found this you also found your mate. Congratulations. I was the seventh host to the blue wolf and knew my time was coming to an end, so I hid the power collar in a place only we, as the blue wolf, could find but could only open with the help of our mate. I know the thought of the war ahead has filled you with worry but you must stay strong. Elzar will guide you and those who will follow you. Remember to trust in him, these rooms where built for you to train, without being seen. The wall to your right has a secret doorway, the button to open it is inside this hatch. Everything inside is for you to use, please do, I have no need of it now. Yours sincerely Reece Carmichael. P.s Elzar has no knowledge of this or that I hid the collar. I hope he can forgive me.' That's all it says."
"Goddess keep you safe Reece Carmichael. Let's press the button in the hatch and see what he left us."
Dad pressed the button, as he was still near the hatch, and the load noise of stone moving could be heard.
