Here we go.
Ladies and gentleman Chapter TWO!
Yeah I'm weird I've come to terms with that fact.

"You're late Casper." A very amused looking Maria stated. She stared at me with raised eyebrows, her frizzy dark hair was thrown into a neat bun and she was wearing the standard black slacks and light blue shirt that every employee at Reynolds' Hotel wore. Her dark brown eyes glittered with amusement as she handed me a neatly folded pile of clothes. The uniform. Oh joy.
"I know, I'm sorry." I genuinely apologized. She was doing me a favor by waiting for me. I needed her to show me how to clock in. And being late was a real jerk move. Walking into the male employee locker room I quickly changed into the clothes. And shoved my shirt and shorts in my employee locker that my name's written on it. I grabbed a pair of socks and cleanly polished black dress shoes out my bag before shoving that too into my locker. After I slipped the shoes on I ran my hand through my hair a couple more times trying to tame it a little. Giving up I decided it was pointless and walked out to see Maria still waiting for me.
She shot me a warm smile and quickly showed me how to clock in for my shift. I clocked in precisely at 4:10 pm. I sighed as I realized my mom was going to kill me for being late on the first day.
"So how were the waves today? What time did you and Eric head out?" Maria asked as we walked towards my moms office to see what my job would be today. I smiled as I remembered the waves from earlier. They were incredible.
"We left about an hour before dawn. We were on Dawn Patrol which, is what surfers call it when you start surfing at dawn," I clarified. She shot me a 'I'm not an idiot' look. I cleared my throat awkwardly and continued, " Anyways the waves were great this morning. We had some really great rides there were a lot of A-frames but, they started to calm down around 10:00. After that there were tons of ankle-breakers." I answered ruefully. Ankle-breakers are small waves that aren't worth riding, they suck. An A-frame is the perfect barreling surf, they break oh so nicely. The waves are always the best in the morning but, it blows having to get up so early.
Maria wrinkled her nose in obvious distaste. "Surfing is great and all but, there is no way you'd catch me up that early." She stated shaking her head slightly looking at me like I was crazy. I grinned shrugging my shoulders.
"It's a small price to pay." I said and surprisingly I could the truth in the words. It really was worth it. Surfing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Sleeping in isn't a luxury I'm ever going to want if it stops me from catching some of the best waves.
She grunted slightly as she stopped outside my moms office. She leaned against the wall and mouthed good luck as I knocked the door. My mom threw it open and narrowed her piercing gray eyes in exasperation.
"Your late." She stated before moving aside so I could come into the office. She peered around the doorframe and glanced at Maria leaning casually against the wall. As soon as my mothers sharp gaze fell on her she quickly pushed of the wall and smoothed out her shirt. "Would you please join us Miss Martinez?"
Maria blinked in shock for a few seconds before nervously gulping and clasping her hands behind her back. "Of course Mrs. Reynolds." She said hurriedly. I don't blame her for being nervous and confused, Maria only started working her about two months ago. Only being eighteen she's the youngest maid working at Reynolds' Hotel. Frankly, I'm surprised my mom even remembered her name.
