We decided to take my Jeep, for the drive to Oregon, since it has more space then Clara's little Volkswagen Bug. The drive would take about twelve hours, so we left early in
the morning. We arrived in Raegan's hometown around 7:00 pm.

Since Raegan's parents most likely wouldn't be very welcoming, we all decided it would be better to crash at a motel for the night, and go get her stuff tomorrow. The room we rented only had two beds so I volunteered to sleep on the couch.

Raegan looked ready to protest, but I shot her a look. There was no way I was making my girlfriend sleep on the uncomfortable looking couch, and I doubt her aunt would be cool with us sharing a bed.

So, the couch it was.

Clara called first dibs on the shower, so that left just Raegan and I in the room. She walked over and wrapped her arms around my torso, laying her chin on my chest, so she could look up at me.

"I feel bad." She muttered. I looked at her in confusion. Smiling softly I brushed a piece of her hair, behind her ear.

"How come?" I murmured. She sighed burying her face in my chest.

"Because, it's bad enough I dragged you out here to help me deal with crazy family, but now you have to sleep on the world's ugliest couch." She grumbled, glaring at the couch like it had just murdered her cat.

I laughed softly, putting my finger under her chin, I turned her head so she was looking at me.

"First of all you didnt drag me anywhere, I want to be here." I stated, pointedly looking at her. "And, secondly, the couch isn't that bad." I offered. That was lie. It was an ugly pea green color, it reminded me of the itchy sweater Grandma Reynolds knitted for me, when I was ten.

I shuddered just thinking of that horrible thing. It was the worst Christmas ever. I was forced to wear the stupid thing, the entire night. I had a unbearable rash, the entire week, after Christmas.

Raegan snorted, raising a disbelieving eyebrow. "It looks like someone skinned Kermit the Frog, and made him into a couch." She stated. I let out an incredulous laugh.

"This is why I love you." I commented, before realizing what I had said. Crap.

Raegan look at me with wide eyes, she kind of had that deer-in-head-lights look. Not exactly the look you want your girlfriend to have after you accidentally tell her you love her.

I quickly unwrapped my arms from around her, and ran my hand through my hair. Biting my lip, I looked at the ground, which had suddenly become very interesting. It was the same disgusting pea green color of the couch.

"Raegan, I-" I started to explain myself, but was cut off by Clara emerging from the bathroom, freshly clothed in baby blue silk pjs, and fuzzy slippers. She ran a hand through her dripping wet hair, shooting us a refreshed smile.

"Boy did I need that." She stated laughing lightly, it slowly died as she took in our expressions.

"Did I interrupt something?" She asked a little suspiciously.
