After breakfast Maria and Eric left us, to go on some date, that he had planned for the whole day. I could tell Raegan was curious about who I was on the phone with. I tried to act unaffected, but I knew I was being a little off.
"Where are we going?" Raegan asked, when she saw we weren't heading in the direction of the hotel or my house.
"You'll see." I answered smiling a little. She shot me an exasperated look.
"What is with you and surprises?" She groaned in annoyance. I laughed, and kept my eyes on the road.
"Maybe, I just like annoying you." I answered smugly. She stuck her tongue out at me, but didn't say anything else.
A couple minutes later, I pulled into the parking lot of the park. Raegan furrowed her eyebrows, glancing at me curiously.
"The park?" She asked raising an eyebrow. I nodded my head not saying anything as I got of the Jeep. We walked for a bit, enjoying the scenery. It was a really nice day out, not to hot but not to cold either.
I intertwined our fingers, swinging our arms as we walked. She laughed, smiling at our hands.
"So, what are we doing here?" She asked. I shrugged my shoulders.
"I didn't really want to go back home and I figured you didn't want to be holed up in the hotel, so I thought why not go to the park?" I explained smiling cheesily, she squeezed my hand a little, laughing.
"How did you get to my house?" I asked, the thought suddenly occurring to me. She didn't have a car, maybe she took a cab.
"I walked." She responded simply. I raised my eyebrows glancing at her.
"You walked?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows. "You could have just called me and I would have come picked you up."
"I know, but I needed to clear my head, walking helps me do that." She said shrugging her shoulders. I glanced at her in confusion. What exactly did she need to clear her head about?
"Any particular reason you needed to clear your head?" I questioned. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair.
"Why do you do that?" She asked suddenly. I hesitated glancing at her.
"Do what?" She sighed in frustration and stopped to look at me.
"You always want me to talk to you and tell you what's going on in my life, but every time I try and get you to open up you blow me off." She stated crossing her arms in irritation.
Do I really do that?
I looked at her hesitantly, shifting uneasily. I dropped my gaze to the ground, and pursed my lips.
"It was my dad." I blurted. She furrowed her eyebrows.
"What?"
"The call, it was my dad." I explained. Her mouth made and small 'o' shape as she looked at me in surprise.
"What did he want?" She asked hesitantly. I scuffed my shoe against the ground and didn't meet her gaze.
"I don't know, I guess he wanted to explain." I stated, then added,"I kind of hung up on him."
