Poetry 31:Hero

You knew when I was sad,

You knew when I did something bad

You were there when I wanted a hug,

To me, your bedtime stories were like a drug

You taught me how to walk

'Dad' was the first thing I learned to talk

You told me why the sky was blue

From the beginning, you were my guru

Dad, why are you growing so old?

Let's go back to where your hand was what I'd hold

You're a year older, but still my hero

Dad, I promise, I'll never let you go.
