Poetry 9: Unforgettable Times

I enter the class,
My eyes land on you
As if trying to trespass,
I steal glances, just one or two

You look up at me,
Those smouldering eyes meet mine
The ground gives way under my feet,
I'm sure I'm about to die

I straighten my shirt,
And settle my hair
Your face holds a smirk
I try not to stare

Your brown locks swirl,
Making my stomach hurl
Those blue eyes see through me,
Something inside me is dancing with glee

You laugh at my stupid jokes,
And grin when I walk past you
We chat in the class by passing notes,
I always stand behind you in a queue

To the world you may be rude,
But to me you're friendly and cute
To the world you may be mysterious
But with me you share your secrets

I seldom wonder what you see in me,
When you can get anyone you want
Am I really the reason you smile so broadly?
Or do you just want to flaunt

But all my doubts disappear
When you look at me like that
My heart beats faster when you're near
You're the reason I fail in math

Then one day disaster strikes,
My friends ask you if it's me whom you like
I'd never seen you so angry before
You deny the fact and smash the chair against the floor

The next day I look at you,
You ignore me and my heart breaks into two
When your eyes meet mine they're filled with hatred,
The look is so piercing, I'm slightly scared

I wonder why you're acting this way,
When two days before, you listened to all I had to say
I know you can't hate me with such a vengeance,
The old texts and chats are a slight assurance

Did all those times mean nothing to you?
Remembering all those memories, I feel so blue
Two years have passed, it's amazing how time flew
But one thing I'm certain of, I would never forget you.

For a person whom I would never forget.
