He was scared
He was confused
What did this mean?
There was no excuse
For how he felt
For how his heart
Seemed to go out toward
This handsome and smart
Boy right in front
Of his reddening face
There was no explanation
For his heart's race
Maybe just a glitch
In his mind's smooth system
But that was the day
The boy knew
He was gay and
There was hope.
