Sneaking out isn 't smart

Note from me: in this chapter, I don't get in trouble. Uncle Nathan does, though. He learns that sneaking out really isn't smart.

Nathan's pov

My friend zach kavenagh texts me wanting me to come to his party. He tells me that his mother won't be home tonight, so I decide that I want to go. One minor problem: I can't go because no adults will be there. Tom, Siva, Jay, and Max would never agree to it. No way knowing. Not in this century, anyway. I decide to ask, cause the worst that can happen is that they say no. Right ? I might as well ask.

Jay's pov

Nathan's inside talking to zach, while Lucy and the rest of us are playing outside. Or, in siva's case, pushing Lucy in her swing. I glance at Skye, to make sure she's okay. That's when Nathan comes running up. He yells excitedly "zach-kavenagh-invited-me-over,-can-I-go !?! Please, Jay ?!?!"

I decide "ask Tom, or max. it isn't my decision to make. If they say yes, then of course you can go, buddy." Nathan runs off back to the house. I guess he'll ask them later. If he doesn't, he isn't going.

Nathan's pov

Well, that answer is good enough for me. I have no intention of asking max, or Tom. They'll most definitely say ya, no. I guess I'll have to go without their permission. I shouldn't, but I am gonna do it. I wait til 8:20, then get ready. I lock my door, place a pillow in my bed, and skedaddle. Yes, I bail out my window. Lucky for me it's on groundlevel.

Bedtime, late that night

Jay's pov

It's been a while since I've seen Nathan, I'm concerned. He did say that he was gonna go to bed, but he's lied to me before. If he left, ....... he's done for. I know for a fact that he didn't ask max or Tom, because they would've told me. I get up to go check on him. Nathan's bedroom door is conveniently locked. I can fix that, though. Spare keys are great things. I go into tom's room to get the key, and he raises a curious eyebrow. He's sitting at his desk, writing. Tom asks "what's up ?"

I explain "I'm worried about Nathan. I told him to ask you about the party, you and I both know he didn't. His door is locked, and he flat out refuses to come out."

Tom sighs "typical teenager."

I agree "ya, got that right. Well, I'm gonna go check on him."

I walk out, and walk back in two minutes later.

I tell Tom " Tom, he's gone. Nathan bailed out his window. I'm gonna go get him, please take Lucy to one direction's house. I really don't want her to hear this." We hear a throat clear, and I jump about half a foot in the air. I look back, and it's max, holding Lucy.

Max interjects "jay, I'll go get Nathan. You take Lucy, I don't want you to hurt Nathan. You're too upset to go get him. He lied to me, so I wanna have a word with him, alone." I don't ever bother protesting. Max will not be phased by it. I take Skye from max, then go to call zayn. Hopefully he's still awake.

Max's pov

I am so mad at Nathan. He told me that jay said he could go. Nathan neglected to mention that he was supposed to ask me, also. I never said he could go, Tom didn't either. I pull up outside zach's place, just as the police show up. They've got police canines with them, so this can't be good. One of the officers looks at me and says "leave now, please." I shake my head, and he leaves me be. Sheriff Santiago gets on his bullhorn " police K-9 unit ! Anybody in the house come out now ! We'll send in the k-9, and you will get bit !" The sheriff's partner, laser, his vest says lets out a telling bark. This brings a group of kids out. They're intercepted by Rick's deputies. The sheriff warns " last chance ! Anybody in the house, come out now ! We will send in the k-9, and you will get bit !" Another group of kids comes out, Nathan's with them so he's been accounted for.

Rick instructs laser " find them", he makes a small gesture, and laser enters the house. Rick is hard on his heels. I walk over to Nathan, and his eyes go wide. I betcha he didn't expect to see me here. I give him a quelling look, then say " go. get. in. the. Car." He goes, no arguments. I ask the sheriff what's going on, and he tells me that a neighbor called about the noise.

On the way home

I snap "Nathan Ryan Sykes. You lied to me."

He pleads "I'm sorry, but I -"
