The future

Things have been really good since that day Marty and I made up. We've had our ups and downs over the years, but there would be something wrong if we didn't have some kind of fight. Most people thought we wouldn't last, that our love for each other was nothing more than just puppy love. We really do love each other no matter what.

The year is now 2015. Marty and I are now in our late 40's. Marty proposed to me in 1994. Slightly over 2 years before we had our first child. Obviously, I had said yes. We have two teenage kids. One boy and one girl. They're both handfuls, but we still love them.

The first pregnancy was something. I was so scared and happy at the same time. At times during the pregnancy, Marty was freaked out and didn't know what to do. He did his best at keeping me comfortable and happy as possible. The second one wasn't so bad. We knew more and had ideas of what to expect. It was nice getting to feel all the little kicks and pushes, but as you know all fun must come to an end at some point.

We named our boy after Marty. He was so much like him as a baby and Marty wanted his name to carry on. Also, they were almost like twins in appearance. The only key difference is that he has my eyes instead of Marty's. Our daughter's name is Marlene. She's much like me in personality and Marty in appearance. She somehow ended up having Marty's ocean blue eyes. I find the thought of having a female version of my husband amusing. Both our kids were born with brown hair.

They're practically young adults now. Marlene is nineteen being born in 1996, June 6 and Marty Jr is seventeen, born on August 10, 1998. Time sure does fly. Marlene plans on going to college and I believe Marty Jr plans on being like his dad with the music industry, but other than that he's still deciding what to do along side music.

We spend our days like a normal family. Doc still visits us occasionally with his wife and kids. He revealed to Marty and I one day when the kids were still young that he knew we would end up together, going on about how our futures can be rewritten from their previous calculation to a new one. It made me happy to know that we didn't give up on each other that day Marty's ex, Jennifer, tried to break us up.

Speaking of which, I do occasionally wonder what happened to her after that day they broke up. I would hope that she's moved on and found someone else. I may be mad at her on a different level, but I'm not a person who puts others down intentionally. Sometimes you have to accept the apology you'll never get.

I'm happy that Marty and I ended up together. I also love the fact that I got to have his kids. Now there'll be a piece of us that gets to travel to the future. I end up working a simple office job. Marty finally got to turn his dream into a profession. He plays concerts in many places. I'm proud of him and I'm proud to be his wife.
