Early in the evening, I received an email from Takeda-san, inviting me for a dinner at their house tonight. He wants to repeat the old days, where Yuki and I usually dine with them, and eventually would sometimes sleep in their house together. What am I going to do, now that things between the two of us are so complicated? Am I still going to pretend as if everything's alright?

I threw a loud sigh. I couldn no longer take any of this. This is entirely my fault.

And what's worse, I have to bring Chiyoko with us only to show them that we are all in good terms. What really is going on today is really stupid and absurd.

I took my phone out as I opened my phonebook and dialed in Yuki's number. Before I could even press the call button, I paused for a while as I wondered. Am I going to call him? I've never heard of him ever since I dropped him at school. For sure, he's enjoying the festival together with Nanase and that idiot Daiki.

Then the scene from earlier came rushing in. Vividly, I could remember how Yuki gazed at him before he kissed him.

"Seiri..." Again, that familiar, annoying voice echoed throughout my office.

My shoulders twitched as I came back to my senses. That dreadful scene inside my head dissipates immediately.

"Chiyoko. Good to see you here." I faked a smile as I faced her. "We're having a dinner at the Takeda's so, you might as well ready yourself my dear."

"How kind of them to invite us." She's ecstatic about it. "Are we going to invite Yuki as well??"

I gazed at her irritatingly.

"Of course we'll have to bring Yuki with us. He's like a family to the Takeda's."

She frowns.

"Yuki Yuki Yuki. everybody loves Yuki.  everybody likes Yuki." Rolls her eyes. "What's with him anyway??"

"He's pure, and you're not."

"Pure?? Fucking your own older brother is pure?" She scoffs. "You've got to be kidding me."

"If you speak ill of him again, I'm going to buy every bit of what's left in your company, cancel our engagement, and make you poor." I tilted my head as I smiled at her.

"Then why can't you just cancel our marriage instead?" She answers. Surprisingly, she's no longer furious about it. "I love you, that's true. But I can't allow you to treat me like this forever."

Is this true? She's changed all of a sudden. My eyes widened upon hearing her unusual remark.

"I'm quite aware of that. You're just using me in order to buy our company and make sure nothing is left of us. Father's dying, my older brother's nowhere to be found, I'm clearly incapable of managing our business. That's really smart of you isn't it?" She forces a smile. "You came to us, acting as if you want to help us ruin Miura corp. but you instead betrayed my father's trust."

"It's a surprise--"

"It's not a surprise." She interrupts me as she shouts. My my, Chiyoko knows everything now. "You knew all along, you knew before all of us, that father's dying. The moment he knew he's no longer going to recover from his illness, it was also the moment you asked me to marry you--at the same time, behind our backs, you slowly bought every major shares we have. It's all over the news actually. 'How will Miura Seiri save the falling empire of the Fujioka Group'?? You've taken everything from us."

"..."

"It's a truth, my father's the one who ruined your family. He badly would want your brother to be killed because he's the legitimate heir to the Miura Corp."
