"Hey Daiki."

I suddenly uttered as I broke the prolonging silence between the two of us. It's really awkward. As much as possible, I want us to enjoy our stay here, I want us to be happy, free from anything that disturbs us.

As a reply, he then gave me a curious look on his face.

"You see..." I couldn't think of any possible topics as of now. Now I could feel my heart thumping fast. "You haven't told me about the things we're going to...get here...I would gladly want to help you that's why I came--and to tour the whole estate as well."

What the hell am I blabbering.

He then suddenly lets out a faint chuckle-- with his eyes, like two dashes of line. Seeing him, I can't help myself but to blush at his reaction. He looks so, charming for some reason.

Daiki raises his hand as he pats my cold cheek.

"There there Yuki. I was kidding back then. I just wanted to show you this place. Because I know you love flowers."

"H-how did you even know that I love flowers?" I asked, bewildered. "I've been keeping my interest in flowers  as a secret."

"Don't you remember Yuki? When we were kids, you loved to see flowers blooming--you're also making garlands out of it. Despite that you're a boy--I find it cute though, that trait of yours."

"W-what??" I blushed.

"And when we had that ridiculous science project, where our teacher instructed us to plant our own favorite plants." He laughs as he recalled our middle school days. "Mine was a succulent, and I unfortunately killed it by over-watering it. It was pitiful. And you Yuki, you decided to plant roses. Apparently, you worked hard for it to grow. I recall, you water them everyday and check it out every now and then. Seriously Yuki, it's as if you have a pet dog or something." He suddenly pauses, now with his gentle eyes gazing on the ground. "But somehow, your hard work paid off. It was spring back then, when a single rose budded from your plant--the look on your face, the way you happily smiled at it, at that little booming flower, it was somehow--priceless and beautiful."

I gulped as I remained speechless about what he just said. It's surprising though. When we were in middle school, I could clearly remember how aloof Daiki was so much that I thought he never cared about anything in this world--but I was wrong, he was actually watching me from afar--and surprisingly he remembers every detail of it. Even I could barely remember it--as far as I could recall, I felt extremely delighted upon seeing the rose I planted bloom and that's it.

"What the hell am I uttering anyway." He blushes as he covers his lips. "Forget your heard me say that."

Now he's bashfully glaring at me.

I laughed.

Soon after, we left the house and went back to the cottage we live in. Upon arriving, I noticed people chopping up wood and throwing most of it in a huge circle several meters away from the house. They're preparing a huge bonfire I guess.

"What we're going to do here Yuki is to prepare the dinner."

"B-but..." I don't have any idea how to cook. Seriously.

"Don't worry." He easily reads my mind. Honestly. "I'll cook. I'll help you prepare the ingredients. It's simple."

"S-sure thanks..."

We returned our horses inside the stable located at the back pf the cottage. Afterwards, we proceeded into the kitchen only to see all of our needed ingredients already set on top of the wooden countertop. There were loads of vegetables on top, and a turkey sitting on the middle of all those greens. There's as well a huge pumpkin placed beside it. I've never seen something as large before. It's as large as a serving bowl.
