22.
"Isn't it today your school's winter festival Yuki?" Aniue asks out of the blue as he folds down the newspaper he's holding.
Upon hearing his question, I nearly choked on what I was eating. He never misses to attend our school's annual tradition. He's the head of the parents' committee after all. He's job is to organize the event as well. If he attends this time, he'll definitely find out our class play-I can't bear to let him see me cross-dressing. It's embarrassing so much that it would literally make me melt.
"Is there something wrong?" He innocently asks.
"N-Nothing..."
He narrows down his gaze on me. Aniue's sharp, he definitely knows something's bothering me-or am I too obvious?
"I hear class 4-A is going to have a play-Romeo and Juliet."
He knows. I began to startle.
"H-how did you know?" I asked innocently, pretending as if everything's alright.
"I'm the parents' committee head-of course I know about it."
"oh. Yea, I forgot."
"I'm going to watch my little brother's play." He smiles.
"Y-You don't have to." I interrupted. Now I sound like I'm panicking even more. This is bad. "I'm just a member of the production team, it's a waste of your schedule if you watch it."
"Oh." He pauses. "Okay then."
Thank god he believes me.
"I-I'll have to go now." Immediately I stood up from the breakfast table.
"Shall I drop you to school?"
"N-No." I smiled. "I'll just have to take the train. Don't bother aniue."
"Then I'll accompany you."
"A-are you sure?"
"Yes." He chuckled. "Before going to school, shall we have a short date? It's still early and it's your school festival so I guess, it's okay to run in late."
I blushed. For a while, I was speechless, unable to react to what he just said
The school play will be in the afternoon so I guess it's okay to be with him for a while. We never had a date after all-and it's okay to have one at least, before everything between the two of us disappears.
"Is it a yes Yuki?"
"O-okay then."
"Great."
Ever since Aniue bought the penthouse, he decided that I should stay here over the weekdays since it is only 9 minutes away from the academy, and if I commute via train, it only takes me 15 minutes. The place is very accessible than our house located in the suburbs near Tokyo.
It's really weird, having to commute with aniue. As far as I'm concerned, he doesn't commute. I've never seen or heard him ride a train or cab before. Maybe I'll just guide him through the way in case he doesn't know how things work especially on how to process your ticket at a train station.
Upon exiting the main building, we decided to walk to the train station-aniue decided on it. He claims that he needs some exercise. I insisted that we should take a cab since I don't want him to tire himself. Of all the people I knew of, aniue's the one who doesn't want to walk along the buzzling city of Tokyo. He hates the crowd. Is he somehow changing? It's definitely weird.
Soon, we have reached the train station. I was surprised how aniue is leading the way. He knows everything-including the fact that he's the one who bought our tickets using a ticket vending machine. I'm definitely surprised.
