Thirst

As he pleads in front of me, begging me to let him go--I didn't do anything but to only gaze at him back and utter the words I never intend to say. Ever.

"I'm letting you go."

I could have begged him to stay. I should have uttered the words I have been longing to say, that I love him, that I'm willing to leave everything behind just to be with him. But nothing came out from my dry throat.

I watched him walked out, just like that.

And now, he finally has slipped away from me.

The sun that warms up my whole being is now, gone.

It has been days since I've last spoken to him. Now I yearn for him more than anything else. I never knew it would be this hard. Seconds turn to hours, hours turn to days--as days pass by, the more I find it hard to accept the fact that he's gone with him.

Should I even follow him to England?

"As of this quarter, it is apparent that the Miura Corporation's stocks are growing rapidly because of the multiple shares we are receiving these past few years. Our upcoming project, the first ever seven star hotel to be built in the heart of Tokyo--...."

"Mr. Miura."

"..."

"Mr. Miura."

"..."

"Uhh. Mr. Miura...I just would want you to---"

I twitched as I suddenly came into my senses. The thought of my little brother has again accumulated my mind, bringing me into a state of oblivion. I completely forgot that I'm in a meeting.

Now, everybody's eyes are on me.

"Uhh..." I paused as I reviewed the presentation in front of me. "What was it again you were asking me?"

"It's regarding our biggest project ever--the seven star hotel we're building sir."

"Oh. then what is it?"

"If our budget fits this proposal."

"First of all.. An Italian themed hotel?? Can we change the proposal? We are building the first ever seven star hotel here in Japan, I want it to be something unique, more like it must depict our country's culture so guests would still experience "Our country" in the most luxurious way." I scoffed. "If I'm someone who's rich, and have all the money in the world, why would I still visit an Italian themed hotel here, where I could afford to be in Italy and stay there??"

It's too late before I could even realize that I'm already raising my voice towards the presenter. I could apparently see how dejected he is with his tragic proposal. I then cleared my throat.

"I apologize." I muttered. "Just come up with a better proposal. Let me help you with this--I want something traditional, I want something the guests would definitely remember Japan if they stayed here. You get my idea??"

  He poorly nods at me.

 "Does everybody get my idea???"

"As expected Miura-sama, it's exceptional."

"In my opinion, yes, as much as possible we want our customers to experience Japan to its fullest."

As expected the board of directors are confident with my plan. From the expressions etched on their faces, it seems they like my idea more than the proposal.

"Okay, I want to see your proposal on Wednesday."

"Yes sir."

"Meeting adjourned."
