2 weeks later

(Nicole's p.o.v)

"Alright Freja, let's run through it one more time then we can be done, okay?" Freja whinied in reply.

I gave her a little nudge in the side and she took off. We jumped over a fallen log then round the corner and headed toward the bush jump. She clears that and canters to the creek clearing it also. Next was the tree bending. We weaved in and out of the trees and I made sure she got each of her lead changes. She missed one at the very end, but I let it pass considering that was the first time she managed to get more than one.

The last part of the course was the level jump. This was the one where she would jump from higher up and then land lower down. It was just a foot difference, but she would still get surprised at it. So far I had fallen off two times and one time Freja landed but then took off because she got spooked by a squirrel. As we neared the level jump I started to get anxious, but calmed down, because if I'm nervous then Freja will be too.

Freja took off for the jump and I grabbed her mane, prepared to do and emergency exit if she trips. I looked down and noticed the ground getting closer and did a silent prayer. Suddenly there was a jolt and I looked up realizing we were still upright and cantering.

"YAAAA!!!" I screamed, letting go of the rains and pumping my arms up. "WOOO-HOOOO!" Freja neighed and I laughed at how we were still cantering with me screaming my lungs out.

I grabbed the reins again and slowed her down to a trot, making sure to give her a good couple of pats letting her know I was proud. When I looked up there was a figure up in the distance waving. I rode towards it and slowed down to a walk when I realized who it was.

"That was some fancy riding you were doing." Spencer commented as I came to a halt beside him.

"Thanks. We've been working really hard." I said as I gave Freja another pat on her neck.

"I can tell."

That's when I noticed Spencer was riding Airimis.

"Tom told me you were out here and to just grab a horse so I grabbed Airimis. I figured it would be okay with you."

"Ya totally. Your welcome to ride any of them as long as you don't get them hurt. Cause if you break them, I'll break your skull." I laughed.

"Hahaha. So Homecoming's next weekend..." Spencer started.

"Ya."

"Well, we never really planned what we were doing, so I just wanted to run some things by you."

"Okay shoot." I nodded, pulling a bottle of water out of the saddle bag.

"Okay. Well, Erica and Sam were talking with their dates and they all decided on Cheesecake Factory for dinner before, but they didn't want to make a final decision without you." He explained.

"I'm good with Cheesecake Factory." I nodded.

"Okay, I'll let them know. They also wanted to know where we're taking pictures beforehand. I think they were talking about either here or the park next to the beach."

"We can take them here. The park is probably going to be crowded with other homecoming parties, plus everyone can get ready here and then take pictures that way no accidents happen."

"Alright, then I think that's it. Let's head back, Jessa invited me for dinner and I saw steak on the counter." Spencer grinned like a two year old.

I couldn't help but laugh. He was just so cute. God, I just sounded like one of those super obsessed girlfriends.
