"NICNICNICNICNICNICNICNICNICNIC!!!!!!!!!!"

I closed my eyes and sighed. I really wasn't in the mood to deal with Erica's energetic behavior. But she's my friend and she's not the problem, so I won't get mad.

I set my tray of food on the table and turn around. Prepared for the blow that I was expecting, I opened my eyes when it didn't come. Standing in front of me was Eric and Sam and they seemed to be out of breath.

"What happened to you two?" I asked sitting down.

"We *breath* ran *breath* all the way *breath*from*breath* Lilley's." Eric breathed out.

That explains why they're out of breath. Mrs. Lilley is our reading teacher and her room is not only on the bottom floor, which is technically the basement, but she's also in the furthest building from the commons.

"Why did you run?" I asked as they sat down on both sides of me.

"We needed to see how you were doing." Sam explained still struggling for breath a bit.

"I'm fine, you could have just texted me."

"We would have texted you, but we figured it'd be better to talk to you in person." Eric explained now having no trouble with breathing.

"Why?" I asked confused.

"Did you not see the picture?" Sam asked, then smiled at Eric. "I don't think she saw the picture. Everything's fine!"

Meanwhile, out of the corner of my eye I could see Eric trying to cut Sam off.

I sighed and looked at the table. "No, I saw the picture, if we're all thinking of the one Jessica posted."

There was a moment of silence.

"Have you talked to him?" Eric asked.

I looked up. "No. Just avoided him. I sat with Brianna this morning in biology."

"Oh... Are you going to talk to him?"

"I-I don't know. I mean, he lied to me, what do I say to that?"

"Wait, he lied to you?" Sam cut in.

"Ya. Saturday night we were going to work on our song when he told me that he couldn't because his mom was waiting for him outside. I didn't think anything of it at the time until this morning when I saw the picture and I remembered Jessica saying her party was on Saturday when she was handing out invitations. So, yeah, he lied to me and then proceeded to let another girl kiss him." I was holding my head in my hands at this point. Everything that's been going on is just too stressful, it was really starting to wear me out.

"Well, it's not like she kissed him on the lips." Sam tried to reassure me.

"But she still kissed him!" I sat up. "And he let it happen! If he cared at all he would have pushed her away or something!" I was about to say something else until we were interrupted.

"Hey ladies. What's with all the commotion over here?"

I looked up and saw Jessica standing there along with the rest of her princesses. She had a smug smirk on her face, knowing that just moments before we were talking about her.

"Get lost Jessica." Eric almost growled out.

Jessica scoffed and flipped her hair back. "I'm sorry, but I just wanted to make sure Nicole was okay. She seems a little moody today."

"Thanks, but no thanks. She's fine and we're her friends so we'll help here." Sam said trying to sound as mean as Eric.

"Alright, but could you keep it down, we're trying to eat." Jessica stated before walking off.
