8. Steve

It was a busy day for Liz. She was constantly looking at her table clock; time was chasing her she thought. She decided not to visit the café. She wanted to meet him but something was bothering her. If he wishes to see me he will come no matter what. But either way the café is on her way to home. It was almost evening now, her heart was beating rapidly. Her breathe became heavier. She almost ran to her car and drove off.

As she was nearing the café she was feeling like someone was choking her throat. She was barely breathing. She decided not to look for him. But she needed some fresh air or else she would be choked to death. She looked at the time it was 15 minutes to 6 0' clock, So maybe I can order my coffee and move out quickly before he come she thought.

So she stopped her car and stepped inside the café and ordered her favorite coffee. She was holding her breathe; she didn't know what to do. She drank a glass of water and drowned herself with two cups of coffee. It was almost 6 now so hurried to her car.

She stood still at the sight of the man in front of her. Her heart skipped a beat; she was standing there like a stone. Her lips barely whispered a word.

Hi Liz, How are you? Sorry if I startled you, he said.

She was busy in her thoughts. He was looking the same as before like a charming prince; the only thing changed was his eyes; it was blue then. But with his green eyes he was looking sexier than ever.

Liz, is you okay?

Finally she came to her sense. Her eyes were full of tears and she smiled at him. She hugged him tightly as if she didn't want to lose him again.

At last she managed to pull herself together and they drove to her home. Welcome home Steve said Liz cheerfully. During dinner she almost told everything he missed in those years. After that she said, "It's time for you to answer me".

She nodded at him. Then what happened to your eyes Steve? Last time I see it was blue but now it is green.

Liz, I came to you after two decades and all you do is daggering me with your questions he asked looking concerned.

That night when I was fighting with Drake's right hand man I heard that my father was losing his fight with Drake, So I ran to him but I was late. My dad was dead already; I couldn't save him. So I fought with Drake since I was too young for him he couldn't beat me. I took him by piercing his heart with my sword. I saw his life drifting away from him. I saw his lifeless eyes; then I turned to look for my dad but he was not there. I saw Drake's man Keeno coming for me that was the last thing I saw. He used some kind of dark magic on me; he knew that he couldn't beat me so he cursed me sucked my life out of me and left me in a sealed cave unconscious for all these years.

Tears rolled down her cheeks. I know that nobody can defeat you Steve. I am sorry that this happened to you. I didn't even looked for you; I believed what they said to me. After that I couldn't live there she said with her voice choking. She was trembling from head to toe. I missed you Steve and I am sorry. She almost choked him by hugging tightly.

Do not feel sorry for yourself Liz. I too missed you. Even if you stayed you couldn't have done anything. I was cloaked inside the cave with magic. In my unconscious state I saw terrible visions about the destruction of our home. Our Scotia was destroyed by their evil forces; I couldn't let myself to rot so I fought every day for myself. After 20 years the magic was weakened so I gained some energy; I killed the guards of the cave and gained myself slowly. But I really don't know about what they did to my eyes he said.
