Chapter Nine
When Mara woke up, she couldn't move. She groaned in pain as she attempted to sit up. Her hands were chained to the bed frame of the bed she laid on and her feet were tied together. She looked around the room, taking in every detail she could. The room was small, painted a cream color, and had one window. Mara sighed in defeat. How was she going to get out of there?
She curled up on her side and waited; it was all she could do really. Before long, the same man that had talked to her stuck his head in the door. "Feeling refreshed, Miss Counts?" He asked as he strolled in the room.
Mara glared at him. "Yes, I feel so refreshed because you drugged me!" She growled and yanked on the chains. She bit her lip to hold back her groan of pain from the action.
He shook his head. "If you would just be good we wouldn't have to worry about all of that." He walked up to her and brushed his fingers over her face. "You're a pretty little thing, how are you not mated yet?"
Mara's heart ached for Remy suddenly. She knew walking at night would be a bad idea but it was the only way she thought possible to break some of her fears. She jerked away from the man and scooted away from him on the bed.
He chuckled. "You must be some sort of crazy if you think scooting away from me on the bed will keep me away..." he drew out the sentence. He grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him. She whimpered; without thought, it came before she could stop it. He moved his hand and rested it on her shoulder. She avoided his gaze and turned her head away from him. He reached down and untied her ankles. She watched as he did that and then finally looked at his face.
"What do you want with me...?" She whispered. She pulled her ankles up and rubbed them awkwardly. He reached out to her wrists and paused.
"Promise not to run?" He asked as he began to release her wrists. He looked to her face. She paused as she thought about it and soon nodded; she'd rather be comfortable. He finished loosening the chains and slipped them off. "I'm not a very good bad guy, am I?" He looked her in the eye then looked away, rubbing the back of his neck. "You have beautiful eyes..."
Mara's brow creased in confusion. "Thank you...?" She responded to him. She sat up, rubbing her wrists. She watched him; obviously gathering his thoughts, trying to figure out what to say.
He stood up and began to pace the small room. “Mara... Each of my grandparents are from one of the original lines of blood. I know you’re a pretty close descendant of original blood and that’s what I want. We need to mate and produce the ultimate werewolves.” He paused and looked to her, surprised by her disgusted look. “You’re not mated, I’m an attractive male, what’s so repulsive about that?” He turned his head toward the door as there was a commotion out further in the house. He left the room, closing the door behind him and locking it.
Mara let out a long breath; that distraction couldn’t have come at a better time. She was thankful her phone was on vibrate and had a very low sound when it vibrated. She pulled it out of her pocket, thankful again that he hadn’t taken it from her. It was Remy, he had sent multiple messages from the time of 4am till now, and it was about 6am. They all said about the same thing:
Mara, where are you? I’ve searched all over town.
Mara, are you okay? Where are you? Answer me please...
Mara, I’m worried about you... please answer.
Mara whimpered, she could feel Remy’s pain through the messages. She quickly texted him back.
I pulled a stupid move and got kidnapped... I don’t know where I’m at.. I’m so sorry Remy.
Mara laid back down on her side, her back facing the door. Her phone buzzed again.
Who took you?! I’ll find you Mara, I promise.
A tear slipped out of Mara’s eye as she read that. She wished she wouldn’t have pulled the move she did. She figured it would help break her fear of the dark. All she wanted was to make herself for Remy and it seemed she couldn’t even do that.

Remy rippled with anger. He had searched the whole town not once, not twice, not even three times; he had stalked and ripped apart every part of this town he could at least ten times. Mara wasn’t answering any of his messages and he was starting to freak out. The sun was starting to come up. He checked his phone, 6am. He sent another text to Mara:
Mara, please answer me... we’re worried about you.
His phone finally buzzed a reply and he let out a sigh of relief as he opened the text from Mara:
I pulled a stupid move and got kidnapped... I don’t know where I’m at.. I’m so sorry Remy.
Remy could barely contain his anger or his wolf any more. How dare someone take his mate! Whoever did this are going to hope they never came eye to eye with him. Remy could barely respond to her before his wolf completely took over. Remy quickly made it away from any human eyes and shifted. His wolf couldn’t take it any longer. As soon as the shift happened, he howled in anger, aggravation, and pain. He ran home since Colby or Cora hadn’t woke up to any of the messages he had sent them. His russet colored wolf flew through the undergrowth swiftly, his paws pounded the ground. He neared the house and shifted when a new smell hit him. It stopped him in his tracks and he stumbled some. He caught his balance against the house and sniffed the air again, trying to figure out what the smell was. It was strong. A few more sniffs of the smell and he knew it had to do with Cora; and then it clicked. It was the smell of Cora’s heat, Cora had finally gone into heat.
Remy huffed, happy for the couple but upset because he knew that was the reason neither one of them had answered him. He hurried inside and up to their bedroom. It was about seven in the morning now and he pounded on the door.
“What the fuck...” He heard Colby growl from the other side. Remy heard movement and then Cora’s soft voice, “I think its Remy, he’s been trying to get a hold of us since 4...”
The door opened and Colby stood there with a worried expression on his face. Remy clenched his fists. “I need your help...”
Colby looked into Remy’s green eyes and saw how dark they were. Colby knew that even though Remy was in his human form right now, his wolf was still the one with the majority of control right now. And if his wolf wasn’t able to back off, Colby knew it had to do with Mara. “What’s wrong? Where is she?” Remy growled loudly and stormed back down stairs. Colby watched him go down before he turned back to his mate. He walked up to her, placed a soft kiss on her lips, slipped on sweatpants over his shorts, and made his way down stairs. He found Remy pacing the living room. “What do you need me to do?”
Remy turned to him, clenching and unclenching his fists. “Can’t you track her? With your twin link?” Colby thought about it for a second and nodded lightly but his face wasn’t in the gesture. Remy groaned. “Why do you look like that...”
Colby swallowed and rubbed the back of his neck. “I could track her better if we would have had more time together... Our link is still weak...” Colby looked away from Remy, with visible pain on his face. Remy snarled and stormed out of the door. Colby heard the doors slam and a loud crashing noise in the garage. He sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck... What could he do for his best friend and his sister....?
