"Hey Brookie!" Jake slurred while using my arm to hold himself up.
Clearly he was drunk. I mean, Ive seen Jake drunk but never before like this. I was also surprised at how quickly he intoxicated himself. For a 6'3, 185 pound, 18 year old guy, you'd think it would take a lot to get him drunk.
"How much did you drink?" I was beyond annoyed with him at this point. He spent the whole car ride here assuring me that he wouldn't leave me alone, and he did just that after five minutes of being here. I spent the first half an hour in the corner avoiding Caitlyn. Not because I didn't want her to make fun of me like she did when I first walked in, but more because I promised Jake I wouldn't beat the shit out of her tonight.
Caitlyn is one of Jake's ex-girlfriends. She always hated me because I would spend a lot of time with Jake. In fact, most of Jake's girlfriends were intimidated by me. Some of them asked Jake to stop hanging out with me, and others just treated me like dirt. In the end, Jake never put them before me and I was really great full of that.
But Caitlyn, Caitlyn's never stopped liking Jake and she blames me for taking him away from her. Everything she does is just to make my life hell. To be completely honest, I'm shocked she still comes after me because I've punched her in the face multiple times and she's never stopped.
"Are you m-mad cause I left y-you?" He leaned over and pointed his finger in my face.
I sighed. "I think you should call it a night."
"No!" Jake yelled and let go of my arm. Since my arm was basically his whole support system and fell into a heap onto someone's feet.
"Just leave him there, he'll be fine." I looked up to see Chase standing in front of me chuckling.
He took a step back and smirked at me. "Brooke Tanner. Of all my years of living, never have I thought I would see-"
"Yeah, yeah. I'm just as shocked you are." I interrupted.
"Aye, Brooke's here!" I felt an arm wrap around my shoulder.
"Don't act so surprised Cole," I laughed. "I can be social sometimes!"
"Yeah in what lifetime?" He teased.
"Hey guys." I turned and greeted some other guys on the team that were standing behind Cole.
Of course, my happiness was short-lived.
"What are you still doing here Tanner? It's a mystery to me as to why you even showed your ugly face around here."
"Shut up Caitlyn" Cole spat behind me.
"Oh please Cole," She scoffed flipping a piece of hair over her shoulder.
You know in most movies how the rich popular girl is a bitch and she has her minions who follow her around everywhere. Well, that's not Caitlyn. She isn't popular, in fact she really doesn't have any real friends at all. She most definitely is rich though, so she basically buys her 'friends', or 'people who pretend to like her.'
"Fuck off, Caitlyn" I seethed, taking a step closer to her. Being 5'9, it's easier to scare girls who try to piss me off. Especially short girls, like Caitlyn.
"Whatever Butch." She spun around a walked away.
"Butch?"
"Yeah I'm pretty sure she thinks I'm a lesbian because of the way I dress." I laughed. I honestly didn't give a shit what she thought of me.
"I think you're beautiful Brookie." I looked down totally forgetting Jake was even there.
I chuckled, "Thanks buddy."
