Prologue

"Kath! What did you do to your 24th nanny?!" A hot and appealing man aged around 40, shouting his daughter's name from downstairs
"Pasensya na po, Sir Vice. Hindi ko na po talaga kaya 'yang kapilyahan ng anak nyo." Sumbong ng ikadalawamg apat na katulong ng anak
"I'm so sorry about my daughter's behavior, Yaya Dub. I don't know why she's like that, dinidisiplina ko naman po yan pero parang kulang parin." Malungkot na paumanhin nito
"Base po sa apat na buwang pag aasikaso ko po sa anak nyo, naghahanap sya ng kalinga galing sa ina. Halos araw-araw ko po kasi yan nahuhuling kinakausap yung babaeng kulot na nasa frame ng kwarto ni Ma'am Kath." Pagbabahagi nito "Sige po, pasensya na po talaga dahil ko na talaga makakaya ang anak nyo po."
"Wait, here's your sweldo and allowance sa pag uwi mo ng probinsya. Mag iingat ka po, Yaya Dub. Sorry again about my daughter." He flashed a thin smile while patting the nanny's shoulder
"Maraming salamat po. Mauuna na po ako, Sir Vice." He just nodded in return tapos hinatid na nya palabas ng gate at nagpaalam ng maayos

He took a deep breath before entering his daughter's room.
"Kath?" He sweetly called and take a peek inside Kath's bedroom. He saw her daughter sitting on the bed habang nakasandal sa head board ng kama. She throw a bored look to her father, she rolled her eyes and bring back her sight to her ipad. "Can I talk to you?" Pahintulot ng ama then sat on the corner of his daughter's bed
"About what?" She answered in a cold tone at hindi man lang tinatapunan ng tingin si Vice
"About you." He flashed a genuine smile to pleased his daughter
"About me? There's nothing change." She licked her upper lip as she take a look at the ceiling na parang may inaalala "Oh, meron pala. I just lost my 24th babysitter. So sad." She muttered sarcastically
"Kath, why are you like that? May nagawa ba ako sayo na ikinagalit mo na naman?" He sadly asked while looking thru his daughter's eyes but Kath looked away "Hindi ka naman ganyan dati ha? But sin---"
"But since you chose to let go my Mom, I'm like this na? Like a bitch? I'm very sorry for being like this. Ayaw ko kasing isiping miserable yung life ko, that I'm incomplete like this family I belong in. I don't want to know the people around me that I'm just like lonely puppy living a life in a street of nowhere. I'm sorry for being not too expressive. Hindi ko lang talaga kaya. Nandidiri ako. Ayaw kong kawawain ako. Ayaw kong may maawa sakin. Pasensya naman if ganun ang point of view ko, DAD." Puno nang hinanakit na bitaw ni Kath but she's said it in a very accurate cold voice
Vice bowed his head, eyes shut and remained silent. He doesn't know what are the right words na masasabi nya ngayon sa anak nya para gumaan ang pakiramdam at pakikitungo nito sakanya.
"You know what? Just leave my room!" Kath exclaimed, lumapit sa ama nya at itinulak ito patayo sa kama papunta sa pintuan palabas ng kwarto nya
"I just chose the right thing, Ana Kathryn." He said in a crack voice. Pinipigilan ang mga nagbabadyang luhang lalabas "I'm sorry for feeling you like this. Always remember that I love---"
"Shut up!!!!" She screamed as she slammed her door and a tear just escaped from her eyes.

"Mommy! The caldereta is almost done. Taste this bago ko ialis sa apoy." Nadine giggled as she handed the sandok to her mother
"Hmmm." Karylle taste her daughter's work. She throw a disappointed look at Nadine sabay pagbalik ng sandok sa anak
"Why are you looking at me like that, Mom? It taste bad po ba?" Malungkot na tanong ni Nadine at karakarakang sumandok ng sabaw para matikman ulit kung may kulang ba o ano sa niluto nya
"Hahahahaha! You're being adorable again, Nadine Marie." Pigil ng ina sa pamamagitan nang pagpisil ng ilong nito "Nothing to worry about, it's very delicious!" She said wiggling her eyebrows kaya Nadine automatically let out a big sighed as she placed her right hand on her chest sighed as relief
"Whoooh! Thank you, Mom! Sige po, iaahon ko na 'to." Ngiting abot mata sambit Nadine. Karylle nodded in return as pumwesto na sa dining table

When Nadine finally done preparing the dinner, her mother dig her work in. Flattered na flattered sya dahil kitang-kita sa mukha ng ina na nasasarapan ito sa niluto nya.
"Btw, how's school?" Karylle opened a topic, still enjoying the food
"It was fun. But I find kinda difficult about my prof assigned to us." She pouted
"Why?" Nag-alalang tanong ni Karylle sa anak
"Each of us kasi must make a poem about how our father raise and love us." Napapikit ng isang mata si Nadine para hindi nya medyo makita ang reaksyon ng ina na halatang nasasaktan parin hanggang ngayon. Tama nga sya, biglang naging blanko ang mukha ni Karylle at natahimik "Don't worry about that Ma, you stand to me as Mother and Father as one naman kaya I can make that poem in no time." Nadine said in a cheerful tone as she winked to her Mom to cut the awkward atmosphere invading their supper

Karylle just flashed a small smile and continued to eat.
