Chapter Nineteen

GENERAL POV
"Hellow pow, Ms. Karylle. I'm---"
"James?!" Nadine surprisingly exclaimed as her eyes widen.
"Hey." James was suprised but still manage to hide it by flashing a coy smile.
"Nadz, do you know him?" Baling ni Karylle to Nadine, still suprise at shock pa din.
"Uhm. Can I answer that question instead?" Karylle nodded nalang as a sign for him to continue "I'm James. Nadine's blockmate."
"So you're also living in Australia?" Karylle asked with a smile
"Mom, don't entertain him." Nadine blurted out as she giving James a death glare.
"And why?" Karylle stopped for a minute, looking confused at her daughter.
"Basta. May tama sa utak yan." Nadine said almost a whisper that made her mother laughed.
"Bakit mo naman nasabi yan, Hon?" Tanong ulit ni Karylle.
"Palagi akong ginugulo nyan sa school kahit walang dahilan. Bigla nalang susulpot at iinisin ako." Nang-gigil na pagshashare ni Nadine.
"Uhhh... what are you two talking about? I don't understand." Singit ni James. Natawa naman ng palihim si Nadine dahil sa pagmumukhang gusot-gusot ng huli.
"Really? You don't understand us?" Nadine sarcastically said "You annoyed me earlier in messenger using some Tagalog words. Duh!"
"Hahahaha. I asked an assistance to the waiter who took my order for lunch. That's the time when I realized that you're the one I saw live on TV, who's screaming to that Viceral really hard. Really? I heard that Viceral is a gay. You think he might fall inlove to you for giving him a loud scream? Psh." Palabas sa ilong na pag-explain ni James. Napakuyom ng palad na si Nadine dahil inis na inis na ito habang si Karylle ay natatawa lang sa dalawa dahil halatang walang alam 'tong tisoy about Viceral.
"Do you know the word: 'exaggerated'? That word suits for you. I was just screaming for him because he's my father, I'm showing my support to him and this woman standing right next to me," Nadine paused and pointed Karylle "...is my mother. She's the one who serenaded by Viceral live on National TV earlier." Halata namang nabago ang facial expressions ni James dahil sa mga nalaman nya "My scream sounds exaggerated but isn't wrong to show my 100% support and kilig to my parents?!"
"Nadine, calm down nga. Hindi ka naman inaaway ni James eh." Natatawang awat ni Karylle sa anak.
"Uhm. James, sorry about my daughter. She's impulsive and can't control her temper like her father."
"Oh shoot. No, I'm sorry pow. Sorry for the words that I said. I'm so sorry." Nakayukong pag-uumanhin ni James while scratching his nape.
"It's just okay, James. You have no idea about all of it kasi. But next time, be careful, okay?"
"Yes pow. I'm sorry again, Ms. K and... Nadine." Napalip bite nalang si James nang umirap si Nadine sakanya
"Mr. Reid, did you already meet, Ms. K and her daughter?" Sabay-sabay napalingon ang tatlo sa bukana ng tent dahil sa Bench staff na kakapasok lang.
"Yep. I've already met them." He showed a thin smile. Tumango naman ang staff at bumaling kay Karylle
"Ms. K, pwede po ba magpa-alam?"
"About saan?"
"Can we borrow your daughter?"
"For what?" Nadine buts in, creasing forehead
"For James partner? Hindi na po kasi makakapunta yung dapat na model na kapartner nya. And we can't find another Bench model ASAP bc last minute na 'to dahil paulit-ulit kaming nagchange ng sched for that supposed model. I hope you say yes." Magkadikit na palad na mangungumbinsi ng staff
"If I'm the second option, I'd say yes pero ang anak ko kailangan eh. I think malabo kasi mainit ang dugo ni Nadine kay James." Natatawang sagot ni Karylle sa staff.
"Once lang naman ito diba?" The staff nodded "Okaaaay." She sighed. Napangiti naman si James kay Nadine and mouthed 'thank you'.

KARYLLE
The scenery of Nadine and James is somewhat remind me of something... na nangyari long time ago already. James is standing straight, gift on hand, while my daugher is nakasandal sa chest ni tisoy and look at the gift na hawak nito. They must pose and project like a couple who giving gifts to each other since Christmas theme ang photoshoot. I forgot to share that Nadine has modelling skills. Opportunities calling her sa Australia pero tina-take down nya kasi she said to me na gusto nyang magfocus sa studies pero ngayon, there's a miracle dahil umo-oo sya sa Bench. But back to the topic, their position exactly reminds me of Vice and me having our photoshoot for Star Studio Mag, where our lovestory highlighted.
