Chapter 4: One of the three guardians

We brought Staravia to the pokemon center here in Rustboro City. His injuries were healed. I won't forgive that Shinn for abandoning his pokemon.

"I won't leave Staravia here. I'll take care of him!" Seira proudly said.

I smiled at her and give her a thumbs up. That's a fine decision. At least, Seira can ease the pain Staravia is feeling right now.

"Would you like to accompany us on our journey?" she asked Staravia.

"Staravia!" he chirped happily. Looks like a yes to me. Staravia flew and went on Seira's right shoulder.

"Gotta go get my first gym badge." I muttered and started walking. Roxanne is Rustboro's gym leader. I'll beat her to get the stone badge. Seira immediately followed.

We went inside the gym and there were trainers along with their pokemon, battling. Then a boy went towards us.

"Are you looking for Leader Roxanne?" he asked.

"Yes, do you know where she is?" I replied.

"She is in the Rusturf Tunnel at the moment." he answered.

I nodded and thanked him. Then we left and decided to go to the Rusturf Tunnel. It's not very far from here. After a while of walking, we reached the entrance of the tunnel. We went inside and saw a couple of guys in black and purple uniform. They are the Team Shadow I think.

Then, I recognized the girl standing in front of them. She's Roxanne, the gym leader of Rustboro City. She has her Nosepass with her. We ran at her side.

"Need some help?" I asked. She smiled at me.

"Go Grovyle!" I yelled as I threw Grovyle's pokeball and he went out.

"Grov." he snarled.

"Staravia lets go!" Seira said and Staravia flew forward.

"You think you can beat us with just using three pokemons?!" one of the guy said and everybody laughed.

Everyone of them sent out their pokemon. There's Zubat, Mightyena and Slugma. There are three of each of them. A total of nine. We have a disadvantage in numbers.

The battle began and we are at the verge of losing. Our pokemons are in no shape to co continue the battle. One of the Slugmas did a flamethrower towards my Grovyle. Grovyle was going to be hit by the flamethrower when a barrage of bubbles blocked it causing an explosion. When the smoke faded, a Suicune was in the center of the battlefield.

"Cuneee." it howled and did an aurora beam. The Zubats crashed to the ground and fainted. A legendary pokemon is helping us!

"One of the three guardians!" one of the guys in Team Shadow shouted. All of them looked at each other and then they ran away.

"A Suicune. It's very rare to see one up close. They often avoid people." Roxanne commented.

"Yes! One checked." Seira said and brought out a notepad.

It dashed towards me and stopped in front of me. It stared at me intently.

"Cuneee." it roared. Then I felt something strange.

A vision came into my mind. A guy with white hair. And lots of guys in black and purple uniform, the Team Shadow! They are taking the lives of the pokemon in some kind of ritual and a portal is slowly being formed. Then, it showed me an image of a gigantic pokemon, Giratina, ruler of the distortion world. Then I came back to reality.

"Cuneee." it howled again and left.

What was that about?! I know that Suicune is trying to tell me something. But I can't figure it out. An it has something to do with the Team Shadow's doings. They must be stopped! Whatever they are doing, I will stop them. They shouldn't do this to those pokemons.

"It said something to you." Roxanne said. "Looks like you're one of the chosen ones." she added.

"What chosen ones?" I asked.

"Well, the chosen ones are the people who the three guardians will share their power with. They have a mission and that is to save the world from whatever problem is they're going to deal with." she explained. "Anyway, why did you came here, mister?"

"I'm Rave and I went here just to challenge you to a gym battle." I answered.

"Then lets go back to the gym." she said and she started to walk back into the Rustboro City. Seira and I followed her.

When we reached Rustboro City. We immediately went to the pokemon center to heal our pokemon and then straight to the gym to get my first badge.

We are now on the battlefield. She was standing on the other end and our field is a very rocky one.

"Is this your first time?" she asked and I nodded in response.

"Lets both do our best." she muttered as she threw a pokeball into the air releasing a Geodude. I threw a pokeball and Tailow was released from it.
