Corinne's POV
"What's he talking about? Wheels up in thirty?" I ask Spencer puzzled."The BAU has their own jet so we can quickly get to cases across the country. Luckily this case is only about a two hours plane ride." He replied almost seeming excited that he'd get the be in the plane. But how? I'm not a fan of flying. I never was and, now. I need to do it on a regular basis, FOR WORK. There was no way I going to be able to keep myself composed. Since we had thirty minutes I decided to finish my coffee and breakfast while trying to compose myself. Shortly after finishing my breakfast everyone started off to the elevator. I followed knowing what would come after that. The air strip was right behind the Quantico unit. I couldn't help but think that once we land I'd be out in the field catching the people who didn't want to be caught but that was only if I made it through the plane ride. The thought of having my first field experience outside of the academy was calming me down. When we entered the plane this calming feeling rapidly vanished. I started sweating, breathing heavily and getting light headed. I was about to trip and fall from dizziness, but I felt a sturdy figure catch me. I turned around.
"Thanks Reid. I don't know what's gotten into me. "
"Corinne you need to sit down, I-I think you are having an a-anxiety attack. " I could hear the quaver of worry in his voice. I looked at him and gave him a reluctant yet respectful nod. We sat next to each other on the long tan pleather couch, J.J., Morgan, Emily, and Rossi sat next to each other in the four airplane seats parallel to us. Hotch wondered back and forth from seat to seat while thinking on the plane.
Before we started to debrief again I decided to start a new book I had just picked up. It was only 450 pages so it would take me about ten minutes to read. Spencer looked over and saw the book. With light in his eyes be exclaimed," I love that book!".
"Really, me to!" I was already almost done with it when we started comparing our different views of it.
After comparing for what seemed five minutes quickly turned into an hour and a half.
"Alright team when we land J.J and Rossi you two go to the morgue to examine and see what the ME has to say about the body's . Reid and Jennings you two go and investigate the crime scene where Hannah was found. Prentiss, Morgan, and I will head to the Buffalo pd to set up." Hotch was quite stern but he was efficient.Spencer's POV
I was actually quite happy to be partnered with Jennings on her first case. But going to the crime scene first? Wouldn't that be a little graphic for her?
"Hey are you alright? You know going to the crime scene on your first case. It can be a bit well you know. Violent," I asked with concern.
"I'll be fine. Your forgetting that I'm a Dr who was training to be a surgeon. "She replied, the confidence she had in get took me back. It made her seem even more beautiful.
"I'm going to go get a coffee. Would you like one?" I questioned carefully.
"Sure. Decaf with two sugars and two creams please," she said while giving me a friendly wink.
As I walked over to the coffee bar which was at the back of the plane near the bathroom I could feel someone following me.
"What's up Pretty boy? Getting some coffee for your lil lady?" Morgan was such an ass, sure I loved the guy line a brother but I had just met Corinne. It wasnt like we were deeply in love even thought I could feel myself falling for her.
"No Morgan, I'm getting coffee for a FREIND," I said very annoyed.
"Alright what ever pretty boy. What ever floats your boat," he said to me as I walked back to give Corinne her coffee. Shortly after I sat down it was time to land. Corinne looked very uncomfortable and nervous as we began our descend. I place my hand on her knee and she immediately put hers over top of mind and locked her fingers into place. This sent a shiver up my spine and caused me to blush. Morgan looked over and gave me a little wink. I just rolled my eyes at him. When we hit the ground Corinne's hand was still locked with mine even as we walked over to the black SUV that was waiting for us.
She let go of my hand and looked at me. " Thank you Spencer. You know I grew up here." She said in a bubbly tone.
"No I did not," I replied.
As she got into the car she started," Yep I was going to study medicine at UB to become a pediatric surgeon. I grew up about fifteen minutes away from here."
"Wow, well we have 40 minutes until we get to the crime scene, so why don't you tell me about your childhood here." As I drove she started to tell me about her high school, how she had played volleyball for seven years and horseback rode for fifteen before going to college at Yale. She told me that her and her friends would always like to go ice skating at this one little rink she pointed out on the way, how her family had a beach house just across the border and they'd spend time there. She then pointed out a building and told me that's where her mom used to work before she passed away. She said that she was a personal injury lawyer. And she told me so many other things about her life and I was in awe because she was perfect in every way. She was well rounded, smart and fun to be with. The car ride consisted of many laughs jokes and long conversations. When we arrived we knew that it would be a whole different story.
I parked the car and got out. As Corinne followed behind me I showed the police officer my credentials and she did the same following behind me as if she were a lost puppy. I stayed in Front of her and if anyone has any questions id surely protect her from them and show her the ropes.
