Chapter 26: Not Just a Coffee Date

Spencer's POV
I was sitting waiting at the booth twirling the ring box in my hand. The guys sat at a booth on the other side of the restaurant where the rest of the ladies except Corinne would would be joining them shortly. I had already ordered our coffees and was just waiting for her to arrive. A few minutes later the girls walked in which meant that they had left our house and Corinne was ten minutes away.

What was I going to say? How was I going to do it? Am I even ready for this? Yes Spencer, yes you are. What if she says no? What if she laughs at you. No she won't she loves you. I kept fighting with myself like this until she walked in I got up and walked over to the door and gave her a kiss on the cheek and she giggled. She looked like she had just been crying.

"Hey beautiful! Is everything alright?"
I asked as I walked her back to our booth.

"Yeah everything's perfect babe. I love you." She said. Her smile was beautiful. It could light up a whole room of she wanted it to I kissed her again and we both sat down.

She told me about the book she finished that day and about how great it was. She also told me what they did at girls day. She said that they did hair and talked about the future and boys. I told her that be did our usual and just hung out and drank some beer. This was obviously a lie. She hadn't drank any of her coffee yet which I thought was a little weird but I just brushed it aside and continued the conversation. She was so perfect I was so happy with what I was about to do.

"Hey Rin?" I asked.

"Yeah Spence?" She replied.

I saw Morgan pull his phone out. I knew he was going to video tape it all, "well you see we've been together for one year, one month , 26 days, 43 minutes and 57 seconds and I've loved all of that time I've spent with you. I love you so much and I can't see myself spending time with out you. We've been through everything together from coffee, to you getting kidnapped, to Tess and Matthew, to all of our cases, all of our dates, and all of the live we both have for eachother," she started to cry as I took her hand and stood up, "what I'm trying to say is that I can't see myself doing anything without you anymore," I lowered my self down on to one knee and put one hand in my pocket, "Corinne Elizabeth Jennings will you marry me?" I finally asked after drawing it out for so long.

"Of course I will!" She said through her tears of joy.

Everyone in the coffee shop began to clap and the team ran over and hugged us both. Rin, my fiancé, hadn't had know that they were there and they totally surprised her. We al sat down at the booth and laughed and had big smiles across our faces.

"Okay," Morgan began, "let's all celebrate with a cup of coffee!" He said grabbing my his mug and raising it high.

We all joined in except for Corinne.

"Rinny why aren't you toasting?" I asked I was kind of hurt. Was she already having second thoughts?

"I-I can't have c-coffee." She said with a quaver in her voice.

"Why can't you darling?" I asked. She was just acting weird for herself now.

"Does it have caffeine in it?" She asked in a voice that wasn't flittibg but had the same aspects to it.

"Yes.... Umm why wouldn't it?" I asked very confused now.

"I can't have caffeine any more." She simply stated.

"Is this some wedding diet. I'm so confused! You love coffee!" I almost yelled.

"I can't have it because," she stretched across the table and grabbed my hand and squeezed it.

"I'm pregnant!"
